My 97 I did the ikon Flip kit and 2 drop shackles and a under bed weld in c notch and drop shocks , front I heated the spring because I’m replacing EVERYTHING in the front, everything is shot, gonna do drop springs and drop spindles, finding used wheels for 5x135 sucks most used wheels are ugly ass wheels

Yeah every time I look for wheels on marketplace they are usually just 4 wheel drive looking stuff. I'm afraid if i use adapters they'll push the wheel too far out.

@ yea my thoughts to , I thought about adapter to run my stock 05 six lug but be lowered with the same issue,

Bout mine from from ikon industry on eBay and had to drill the flip kit kit saddle bracket for the leaf spring pin even after flipping the pin in the spring

I've found and viewed your last few videos on the lowerings! Imagine my surprise that this one included something i need to do on my 97 f150 stepside...idler arm i bought from Rockauto about a year ago. The oem one started squeeking loudly about 2 years ago so had my mechanic grease it and he said i need a new one. Got it but that lube he put on did better than we imagined and i still dont feel the need to put on the new one, yet. Hahaha. Love ur show. Wont miss another. God bless.

I'm subscribed, not a lot of videos on these trucks especially on lowering them so thank you for the content. This is what I'm trying to do for my 99 for the rear at least, flip kit and air shocks to help level it out when loaded up. Are you going to do a video on the air shock install anytime soon? I'm still trying to find the right part number for it since the axle will be flipped I'm hoping we can find something soon

I probably will but like you, I still need to find out what length to get. When I first got the kit I looked for videos and all I saw were people showing it after they had already installed it. Which isn't helpful.

Expect to crack your sockets and might as well do new LED bulbs while your at it. Head light adjustment tool comes in handy. Crimps and stuff will come in handy as well.

I wish i would have measured it before I started but I think it's 3/5. According to everyone I've asked a flip kit gets you 5 inches in the back. If you could do a c notch I would go for it. I'm hoping to get a welder at some point and then I wanna try and notch it myself.

@@zykuix Yeah the rear has no spring travel. If I took the bump stops out that might help a little but I took the bump stops out of my Ranger and it didn't help.

It didn't work. But I realized I tightened the bolts out of order so I loosened them up a couple days later and got it to stop squealing. Then I proceeded to break a bolt off in the alternator but that's a future me problem lol.
