I think people who passively access Dune whether its looking at makeup trends by tiktok creators or seeing posters dont understand the foundation of Dune. Villeneuve doesnt even shy away from it. You do realise Arabs colonised Europeans right? Arabs even had white slaves, millions of white slaves. In fact, it was one of the longest periods of slavery in history. To this day, south eastern Europe (the Balkans) still bears the scars and is still affected to this day. When they conquered European lands they forced them to convert to Islam, if they refused they would be tortured, killed, extorted, enslaved, raped, and families torn apart.
