I always feel like the pedal in the piano is a great way to capture visual imagery. In my opinion, the blurring effect of different harmonies, non chord tones or even just a complex harmony being held is in music the same that having colours in painting. Most importantly, I believe that the pedal is able to capture perspective (which beksinski’s artwork has a lot of) Try for yourself looking to two different paintings, one being a wide landscape with perspective and another without (maybe Kandinsky). If in your head you try to come up with a piano musical idea to represent them, you will notice (or maybe not and I just have a weird idea about linking music and painting) that the one without perspective lacks pedal and the one one with has it

@@GorechierComposer hmm.... I think the most reminiscent is this section from 0:31 to 0:41 where the frantic melody is being very slightly rushed, which is also seen in Shosty's 8th Quartet 2nd mvt. (just before the Klezmer theme... I think there are more examples like the 1st concerto 4th mvt., but I can't really say off the top of my head ). The mood of the piece, and the smooth transitions b/w the time signatures also prompted this statement. Whilst I am not *extremely* familiar with Prokofriev's pieces (I've only heard the concertoes and sonatas), I could *sense* as if it was influenced ... I think you get it idk..
