Everyone please check the tack welds on the 4x brackets the legs bolt onto. One of them on mine was cracked. Found it when assembling the legs. I checked the welds on the other leg brackets and they were all sub par. Lack of fusion, no quality standards at all. Quite disappointing given this is an XT - extra tough model. Also the hood has a poor design. Too many linkages has a stack up effect of excessive wobbly movement. Makes it feel cheap. I shimmed all 8x linkages up with 0.4mm thick washers which removed all of the side to side slop. The lid now feels much better. The assembly instruction booklet pictures have no contrast. Difficult to see where the arrows are pointing. The pictures were mostly all black. I would be happy to pay another 50 cents for colour pictures. There is a spot on the outside top section of the cooking box about 15-20mm in diameter that is rusted under the powder coat. The powder coat has bubbled and flaking away in that area. I would expect that damage to occur if stored outside in the weather for a few years- not straight out of the box. This smoker retails for over $3000 in Australia. Yep, you heard right. For that money I was sorta expecting a product without any obvious quality issues.

Made these a few days ago. Phenomenal. I agree with the previous comment the 3-2-1 method would have overcooked them. I always cook with a thermometer. I pulled the ribs from the frig 1 hr before the cook. Starting temp was 65° I'm @5000' so I always cook 25° lower than suggested. These ribs cooked to 170° in 2.5 hrs then wrapped for an hour. In 1 hour after wrapping they were at 195° unwrapped and sauced for the final 20 min to tack the sauce. AMAZING ribs. My wife said best ever. A bit of sweet/smokey and perfect heat.

This hands down is the worst method of reverse sear. Why would you cut the Lin in half twice? If you want more surface area to sear for flavor why wouldn’t you just sear it off to begin with?

This is pound for pound the best smoker for the money! Nothing even comes close! Wi Fi for under $400! I got the smoke attachment and set it and forget it with 5 hours of plenty of smoke. Great for beginners and pros alike. Accessories and parts are available on Amazon. Why send thousands if your not on the BBQ competition circuit?
