@TheLoopyLamb4 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for purchasing the pattern and yarn! I really appreciate your support. I understand that the pacing of my speaking might feel a bit fast for you in this video-thank you for bringing that to my attention. This is actually my usual speaking speed, but I’ll keep this feedback in mind for future tutorials. In the meantime, you can slow down the video playback in KZbin’s settings, which might make it easier to follow along. I hope you enjoy the project, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Unfortunately, I can't do a tutorial for someone else's crochet pattern, without their consent as it violates their copyright. Perhaps if you contact the designer of the pattern and request a video tutorial, they may create one, if there is enough demand for one. Sorry I couldn't be of more help

@@beverlysmith1953 Hi Beverly, Thanks for your reply! To clarify, I’d recommend searching online for the creator of the Ghostface doll pattern you’re hoping to make. If you have an image of the doll, you can try a reverse image search on Google to track down the designer. If not, you could also browse for a similar design that you like and reach out to the designer to see if they have a tutorial or might be willing to create one. Since I don’t design trademarked items (like Ghostface) and can’t create patterns based on other designers’ work without their permission, I’m unable to assist with making a tutorial for this specific project. To help you get started, here’s a link to a quick search I did for ‘crochet Ghostface’ on Google-there are a few video tutorials included there: www.google.com/search?q=crochet+ghostface&rlz=1C5CHFA_enCA1000CA1000&oq=crochet+ghostface&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyDggAEEUYORhDGIAEGIoFMgwIARAAGEMYgAQYigUyBwgCEAAYgAQyBwgDEAAYgAQyBwgEEAAYgAQyBwgFEAAYgAQyBwgGEAAYgAQyBwgHEAAYgAQyBwgIEAAYgAQyBggJEEUYQNIBCDM4NjFqMGo3qAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 I hope this helps clear up any confusion!

I’m going use this to teach a 8yr old how to crochet because your instructions are so wonderfully clear! One question, I think I should start with the large size because it’s easier to see the stitches, but I’d love your opinion. Thank you again for a wonderful video!!❤

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I personally start my young students off with a worsted or bulky weight, smooth yarn as many children (and some adults) struggle to actually see the stitches with blanket yarn. I taught a couple of girls this summer (7 and 12) and they fared better with smooth yarns. A smooth super bulky weight like Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick would be a good substitute if you really wanted to start them off with the bigger version. I hope this helps

I've been trying to make this ghost for days, then saw after row 7 moving into row 8, Your ghost has been flipped. Did u turn it inside out? I don't understand how you flipped from crocheting towards the right now crocheting to the left.?!?!
@sarahclement235224 күн бұрын
Never mind, I figured it out. For all the newbies like me, after row 7, turn your ghost inside out. 🤦♀️Idk, maybe I'm the only one who didn't know to do that.🤷♀️
@TheLoopyLamb24 күн бұрын
Hey there, Just to clarify, the direction of my crochet doesn’t change, but the fabric can start to cup outward, which might make it look like it flipped. The right side of the fabric is always facing the camera. In amigurumi, the right side of the fabric should always face you, and that’s how I keep it throughout the video. I talk a bit more about the right side vs. wrong side when we put the safety eyes in around 18:11, which might help. Crocheting is all about persistence and creativity-every project is a learning experience, and you’re on the right path! Happy crocheting!

I'm curious what you mean by soften here. Do you just mean when you touch it, it feels softer? Or that the nature of the fibre itself is softer and more pliable? I suppose the problem as an amateur I experience quite often is that my crochet and knitting is much stiffer than I would like it to be. Even though I'm using an appropriate needle size and my tension is good (so I'm told.) my next step was to try some less cheapy yarn to see if that made a difference.
@TheLoopyLamb27 күн бұрын
When I say soften, I mean that the fabric is softer to touch. We would generally use the term "relaxed" or "drape" for the fabric being more pliable/having more movement. In some instances that I show here, it does actually relax the fabric, giving it more drape - like steam blocking. Blocking can go a long way to assist with relaxing your fabric to give it more drape. While you may be using the appropriate/recommended needle size for your yarn and pattern, your personal gauge/tension plays a role. You may need to go up a needle size or two if you're looking for more drape. Personally, I find that when knit, I often have to go up a needle size because my tension, although it looks good, is too tight for me to create a fabric with the drape I want. While some fibres naturally provide more drape, it's really a combination of factors: hook or needle size, tension and fibre -those determine how your fabric behaves. It may take a bit of trial and error to find the right combination that works for you.

I have a hard time with this. I understand how to do it, basically, but I always end up having a hard time when I begin the second side on the first row. Thank you for this video. Im hoping I will get the hang of it, even if I have to rewatch this every time I go to make something that requires this. Lol.

Hi there! 😊 Thanks so much for your suggestion. I totally understand how it can be tricky to follow along without written instructions on the screen, but I’ve found that some viewers find it a bit distracting. To make it easier for you, I’ve added timestamps for each row in this video and I’ll definitely try to include them more often in the future! If you need the full written instructions, they’re available to view for free on my ad-supported blog (linked in the description above). You can also check out the KZbin transcripts or captions if that helps. Thanks again for your feedback and for watching-happy crocheting! 💕
Great video. I Loved the science ! use a fairly damp tea towel and a warm iron pressing very briefly and lightly. Its how i block everything, as i was taught by Mum and Granny in the 60s as a child.I find it quick and controllable. But it takes a bit of practice, like steaming. Start cool and move up in small timid steps till you get the right result. Also i find washing in gentle or baby shampoo works. It dissolves much more easily than conditioner. Works brilliantly on itchy mohair type yarns.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your tips! 😊 I love hearing about techniques passed down through generations-it’s amazing how much knowledge our moms and grannies have! 💖 I’ve never tried using a tea towel and warm iron, but that sounds like a great, controlled way to block. I’ll have to give it a go! Thanks again for watching and sharing your experience! 🙌

when i go to round 17 i cant find round 15 on the inside of the ghost what am i doing wrong?
@TheLoopyLambАй бұрын
@@reginapuckett347 it could be the type of yarn you are using, making it hard to see the stitches or if your stitches ate super tight, it may cause your back loops to be harder to see. If you pull your work back to round 15, you could weave a piece of yarn through the blo of that round which could help you see it when you need to work into it. You’d just need to be careful to make sure you don’t work over the scrap yarn when you do round 16 so you can pull it out afterwards. You could also use removable stitch markers.
