This year I had really analyzed my life and although I was in a comfortable place, I realized that I was not content. School made me stressed, work had me irritated, I wasn’t communicating well with my friends or family, and my love life made me anxious and depressed. From a social standpoint, I did everything that I was “supposed to do” but regardless, I was still unhappy. What was ironic was that I normally loved school, loved learning, just not what I was doing with it. I’m the hardest worker that I know, but being in my work environment made me lazy and undetermined. I loved my friends, I was in love with this girl, but I did not love myself enough to find happiness. So after dissecting my life and pin pointing all of the things that were not making me happy, I made some impulsive decisions. I dropped all of my classes. It was my first time taking a break after 2 years of college (including summers). I put in my two weeks at a job I had been at for two years, a job that I had just been promoted to as a supervisor. I started spending more time with my friends and being more productive. I learned to stop giving so much to someone who couldn’t give it back. I started giving more to myself because I deserve it- and no one else was going to provide that for me. I went to music festivals and concerts, booked trips to travel, started and completed a self love challenge, etc. I replaced bad habits like partying with reading and writing. I learned to let go of things that were giving me the bare minimum eventhough I was pushing at my absolute maximum. I could honestly go on forever, but all in all, I completed everything on my resolution list for 2019 and am immensely fucking proud of myself because I did THAT. It is ridiculously refreshing to be on this journey and I am so excited to see where life takes me!! So 2020, here I come 🤩
