I had this same toy car in the early 70's not sure what birthday I got for but it was from my grandparents. Probably hot sold at a yard sale later when I stopped playing with it or broke it.

Hi, quite ingenious - a hose is connected between the bottle and the glass then the different positions make the water flows from glass to bottle🤡

What do you add to make it smoke?
@tintoyman9132 ай бұрын
Hi, you need some kind of light machine oil, sometimes people mix oils to get an even thicker smoke. The important thing is to reach the actual smoke generator which often requires to disassembly the toy. If you just put the oil in the visuable opening you may clogg the hose connected to the smoke generator and/or damage the bellow which pushes the smoke out of the generator! Another thing is when you add oil to the generator you need just 2-3 drops - overfilling may destroy the smoke generator. Brg //Tintoyman//

This is the best view of Smoking Popeye I have ever seen ! what a beautiful design and packaging . What is it that makes the smoke ?
@tintoyman9135 ай бұрын
Thanks very appreciated comment😀. It’s basically a small smoke generator inside and a bellow. A very tiny wire burns a small pad soaked in oil hence smoke is created. //Tintoyman//

Hi Tintoyman, after a long search I managed to find a Masudaya Romantic car in excellent aesthetic condition. 60 years ago it had been a favorite childhood toy of mine, but then lost. I proceeded to restore the electrical part, including the smoke generator! Now the car is like new, but one detail is missing: the driver. Since it is practically impossible to find an original one, I thought of having it reproduced with a 3D printer. However, in order to do this, I am asked for some photographs of the figure. And for this reason I took the liberty of writing to you, because I ask you for a great favor, if it is possible. That is, if you can send me some photos from various angles of the driver. This way I will be able to have the puppet replicated, even if it is not original. Thank you very much for your attention. All the best, Massimo

@@user-mi6zz1dq2s Hi, I’m very glad to hear that you found one and congrats that you managed to repair it. I would really like to help you with some pictures but unfortunately my collection has grown so large so many of my toys are packed in cartons and put in a farirly remote storage, among them this Romantic Car:( I’ll for sure try to pull this toy next time I go there and if I find it I’ll contact you again. @tintoyman913 Жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for visiting my channel. These are the ”Whistling Spooky Kooky Trees” mfr. Marx Co. There are two versions (booth displayed on my channel) and the story goes that the first dark brown version was a bit too scary for the kids hence was not a success when it comes to sold units. Mfr. then tried to make it a little bit less scary by changing the color to light brown but it didn’t help and three were even fewer toys sold. These trees are very desirable for collectors as the are truly tin toys i.e. most part of the toys are made of tin, only the arms, nose and leaves are made of other materials. They are not easy to find but definately not impossible, search for them on ebay and on US auction sites when they have dedicated toy auctions. The dark brown is ”easier” to find than the light brown according to my experiance. Fully working tree with original box in good condition are quite rare and will go for higher prices.
