Floyd Patterson beat 1 HOF fighter. George Foreman beat 2 HOF fighters. Mike Tyson beat 2 HOF fighters. Joe Louis never beat a HOF fighter that didn't already have at least 7 losses. The guy he beat for the title was the same size as Walcott and had 7 more losses. Marciano also beat 4 #1 ranked contenders all in their 20s and beat 1 of those twice. So, Rocky fought on 10 occasions where the heavyweight opponent was at least ranked #2 in the world. Rocky KOd 30 opponents who were bigger than him in less than a 50-fight career. Patterson had the kind of speed that would've given Marciano trouble at any point in his career (as long as Floyd could avoid getting starched). Liston, on the other hand, would have wrecked him. Walking right into that firestorm would've been Rocky's undoing.
