1 Samuel 15: 22 (KJV) And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

Its funny how the phrase "Lord OF the sabbath" is found in the bible, but not the phrase "god OF the sabbath." Something to think about.

@maranatha-media also, I'm kind of confused when Genesis 2:1-3 talks about God rested the 7th day from all his work. If it's through the son that all things were made, how do you understand this?
@maranatha-media11 күн бұрын
@@nathanarneaud5666 John 1:18 says that the Son of God dwells in the bosom of the Father. The Father is the rest giver. The Son is the rest receiver. (Lord of the Sabbath) He rests in His Father. Oh course the Father has joy and delight in His Son who dwells at HIs side and Has complete faith in Him.
@nathanarneaud566611 күн бұрын
@maranatha-media ok so can it be said that the son did the works that the father spoke for the six days then returned to heaven to rest in the father?
@maranatha-media11 күн бұрын
@@nathanarneaud5666 I am are not sure exactly where Father and Son were during the process but indeed Christ rested in the bosom of His Father on the Sabbath. This confirmed that the value of the Son was not in what He created but Who He belonged to. I think I have more on this in this presentation kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZSug62pf6uKec0

What about the animal sacrifices that God "required" from the Israelites. Blood was required to atone for sin. Wasn't it?

Rereading the Great Controversy in today's uncertain world helps bring things much more into a proper focus through that review of Christian history as inspiration presented it in the pages of that wonderful time-honored book. I know of no other work that has laid out so clearly the ecclesiastical components through which the Reformers had to so painfully, yet joyfully, endured making it easier for those who have yet to follow their examples as they so unhesitatingly followed their Saviour. It is nice to have you back after such a long and, what we shall hear more of next Sabbath, successful missionary.

Such an important point at 12:00, that what Jesus needed most in Gethsemane was assurance of His Father's love: In this awful crisis, when everything was at stake, when the mysterious cup trembled in the hand of the sufferer, the heavens opened, a light shone forth amid the stormy darkness of the crisis hour, and the mighty angel who stands in God's presence, occupying the position from which Satan fell, came to the side of Christ. The angel came not to take the cup from Christ's hand, but to strengthen Him to drink it, with the assurance of the Father's love. DA 693.3

in respect to elders and church authority as outlined by Jesus, many of us may have been raised under hard and arbitrary discipline and then made rebellion a way of life, out situation at some point may have changed, but we still operated under this misconception, but when understanding the Lord is not a hard taskmaster, we can willingly and gladly yield to our elders and thus keeping the Lord's blessing flowing into this blessed movement

We NEED to ask God to SHOW US what that means that we are miserable wretched, poor, blind, and naked. "God is LOVE' is a great beginning, just as Luther made a great start by saying that we are saved by grace through faith. But we should not rest there! There's much more light needed! And I believe Adrian is shining light on the narrow path. Physical blood pollutes; spiritual blood [of Jesus] cleanses. This is some serious LIGHT!

As a bookkeeper of a small firm in the 1980s, there were 2 different stamps in my desk drawer for when a bill was 'closed'. If the bill was paid, I used the stamp: "PAID IN FULL". If the customer was simply unable to pay, and the boss said to let it go. close it anyway, I used the stamp that said "FORGIVEN". If the bill was partially forgiven, the bill was to be divided as such, with the paid part stamped "PAID", and the unpaid part stamped "FORGIVEN". I could NOT stamp a bill with BOTH. (Well, I could, but there would be fines, and I'd be fired.)
