Video does not define the selection criteria of the Insulated safety hook. When choosing an insulated rescue hook, there are several factors to consider to ensure its effectiveness and safety. These include the hook's weight capacity, length, and insulation rating. The weight capacity refers to the maximum amount of weight the hook can safely support. The length of the hook should be suitable for the person using it and the situation it is intended for. The insulation rating is critical, as the hook should be able to withstand high voltage and protect the person operating it from electrical shock. Hook's handle should provide a firm grip and be made of an insulating material such as rubber or fiberglass. Proper storage and maintenance of the hook is also crucial to ensuring its longevity and effectiveness. Regarding the use of PVC pipe (In video it is a PPRC pipe), the intention was to show that in the past people considered use of PPRC or other non conduct material is effective but then (in the second half of video) standard & rated insulated rescue hook use was shown. The video does not cover rescue procedure details, the most effective way is to isolate the source. If someone is not aware of the source then use of Insulated rescue hook is effective & proven also. The operating principle is relatively simple, during operation, pull the waist or underarms of the person who gets an electric shock to get rid of the charged body, and then take various rescue measures to ensure the person's life. Use rescue hooks are widely use in industry & are effective also. Would suggest to refer to ASTM Standard F711 it defines Standard Specification for Fiberglass-Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Rod and Tube Used in Live Line Tools, many companies refer this standard to manufacture FRP Insulated rescue hooks.
