I’m in the USA. I started in CFO Finance, to Treasury, then to Market Risk Management. There are lots of people qualified to do entry level treasury most likely in Australia, but even in the USA everyone wants 5 to 7 years experience for a Junior position( this should be a senior level). The company can easily hirer a new business grad and train them up in 6 months. Treasury is not difficult at the Junior level. It only gets interesting once you get into the investment and liquidity side.

Hello. I am a new treasury analyst at a bank in Canada and started 2 weeks ago. I have a lot of confusion going into the job. Generally it seems like I have a lot of book knowledge from studying CFA and such, but when they talk about actual fixed income markets and economic matters, Its tough to connect the dots. I would like some advice / mentoring, do you guys do that here?

Hello, really appreciate the informative content provided. From a candidate perspective, I failed to receive a follow up for an associate level Treasury position that was relatively thinly applied for. This same position has since reposted again, about a month later, looking for the role to be filled. With qualifications well met for the role and two years of corporate finance experience, I am curious what exactly they may be looking for. Additionally, I am studying as CFA candidate, so not sure if that had any plausible effect . Long winded, but thanks for any insight.
