@PT-Gethooked29 күн бұрын
Thanks Steve. They are called Dennett Deadbait Sticks available from “Tackle The Problem on EBay. Just search for “Pack of 4 Assorted Dead Bait Pop Up Sticks for Pike Perch Fishing”. I ordered a few packs as you get one of each size so if your fishing same size bait on more than one rod you’ll need a few. You could make your own quite cheaply aswel. 👍🏻
@stevesmith901529 күн бұрын
@ cheers will have a look was planning on getting some before I saw your video. I want to try a standard legered Deadbait and a popped up one on a second rod I am mostly using sardines on the Trent
@PT-Gethooked29 күн бұрын
@@stevesmith9015 definitely worth testing to see if they prefer one over the other. The Trent can be quite rocky so I think balsa pop ups could work well. Check how they sit in the margins for the buoyancy, if too buoyant use either a smaller one or add one of the new Fox pop up weight weights to the trace below the first treble. They work a treat. I think balsa sticks give the bait a more natural presentation, perfect for the big Trent pike which can be fussy.
@stevesmith901529 күн бұрын
@ cheers mate will do. Had one every trip so far since October so doing ok. Nothing massive yet 👍
@larsvegas1505Ай бұрын
id advice u to go corkscrew jighead.. put 2 splitrings a swivel and a treble.. i dislike going weedles because ur not hooking 8 out of 10 fish.. I like to catch 8 out of 10 instead of losing most. And if it means hooking a bit of weeds some casts.. then thats unavoidable. Also softbaits last a lot longer on a corkscrew. I have a jon boat so i can fish most waters like these from the middle.. that also a lot more effective.. also using livescope, that way u can really see how the fish reacts. (i often have a lot more followers that dont bite then i wouldve known otherwize).
@PT-GethookedАй бұрын
@@larsvegas1505 I’ve rigged some more baits up with corkscrew jig heads and trebles but this venue is so weedy they aren’t fishable hence why I was using the weed less belly weighted hook. Later in the year it might be possible to fish them in the top 3 feet of water over the weed once it dies back.This lake is just left as a nature reserve so it’s choked with weed in the summer. And we aren’t allowed to use boats on any of the waters in my area. But yeah definitely a better hook up rate when not fishing weedless I agree but more like 50/50
