The EMG’s definitely sound clearer to me.. So for rhythm I would probably go with that.. But for solos I feel like the roundness of the Fishman could be nice.

I ended up buying the EC 1000s but it seems like maybe I need to adjust my pickup height. I'm not liking fishman fluence modern as much as my seymour black winters. Any suggestions on height or any way to get a more emg or seymour like sound?

Maybe give the 2nd voice a try its more of a passive pickup like sound, the modern voicing is very cold and articulate sounding, that ones a bit warmer. If youre getting a weak signal look into changing out the battery, fishman actives eat through those things like crazy

At the moment I have three guitars with active pickups. A bc rich ironbird extreme that came with fishmans, an ltd f400 that has the 81/81 setup, and a jackson x series soloist that came with jackson branded actives. If I had to be honest, I like the jackson actives the most of the three.

Jackson stock pickups are shit. The open E string hums so loudly that it drowns out the sounds of the other strings played. Shecter with better pickups no longer has such a problem. I adjusted Jackson in every possible way so that it wouldn't hum. Replacing the pickups helped

In my opinion, EMG Has more Vivid, Brighter sound, and Fishman has Heavier, Darker sound. EMG is more fit for classic, wideranged uses, however Fishman is a very strong option in a genre like Djent.
