What's interesting is that the music in PoP2 sounds more authentic to the culture than in PoP. OtOH, the building architecture in the first level seems more like the Mughal Empire than Persia (and yes I know there was lots of...er...cultural exchange and tension between the two...culiminating in the hated invasion of Nader Shah and his sacking of Delhi). And the use of the title "Sultan" instead of "Shah" for the ruler of Persia is another example of cultural pastiche. We've come a long way since then, for the latest Prince of Persia features a literal throne of Jamshid and has characters with authentic Sassanid-era names.

I played PoP1 in the 80s when it was first released. Years later when I saw PoP2 I didn't believe it could be any better. And nobody was recommending it. It was so much better and for the first time I was pleasantly surprised!

Sounds worse than radio quality, pauses with every single movement, and even in parts where there is no need for a keystroke, like in the cutscenes, it still pauses. This game was designed for MS-DOS, not for that Apple junk.

My game glitched at the first portion of this part and now I’m soft locked, I step on a certain trigger point (in my case the ladder) and then it shows the FMV of Jin being strapped up with a bomb to his chest.

I’ve never encountered this before. However if I had to guess it could be either a broken savestate or the difficulty mode changed during gameplay and caused this. Hard mode has more FMVs than the normal mode, so it could be related to this issue in some way.

@@RetroGamingKat surprisingly it was a broken save state, It seems overwriting the save when switching characters makes it bug out for some reason, bc I played it over again and made sure I didn’t overwrite this time and it didn’t do the glitch this time.

This game was soooo weak. The OG will always be the best. I just saw a knock off of trying to capitalize on the first. Certainly not the first instance of this happening but the story was ridiculous.

Literally everything is the same as OG dos version...only change is graphical which looks even better....damn these criticisms be radiating low IQ energy.
