on the dinoplex site there is repair info and other information. There is a diagnostic page for dinoplex that would at least partly apply to raceplex. For example, can you hear the high pitched humming sound after applying power? if not maybe transistors T1 and T2 should be replaced. Transistor replacement should be easy enough for someone with decent electronic repair experience, but finding a replacement transformer would be difficult.

@@marcozamo2011 Thanks I found it not long after finding this video. Circuit looks similar to some other CDI systems from that era, although the use of 2N3773 is better than 2N3055 that you see in a lot of designs. Quite different to the later AEI 200 and other inductive discharge systems.

It's a bit complex to use the Focal version, if you can use the Axial version I strongly advise you not to use the Focal one. I couldn't find the axial model and then I had to use the focal model. In any case I built a plate with two double ball bearings fixed on the respective plate surfaces. Then I built a flange fixed on the retarder rotors and fixed the rotors to the shaft thanks to a self-centering shrink disk joint (if I'm correct RCK45). Finally, the plate is fixed to the coil support by means of four extensions screwed to the support and the plate.
