I first fell in love with this car in 1965 . When Ann Francis drove one in the TV program Honey West. A couple years later and Shelby would bring out his AC Cobra. It really doesn't leave much to want, but, I just like the AC ACE.

Stunning film - Pure racing - Thank you so much. LOTUS is synonymous with the following icon of the sport: JIM CLARK - By far the greatest driver ever - no doubt. He is and was "The Best of the Best" (Fangio, Senna, Prost, Stewart and countless others about Clark). No other driver in history until today was so superior as Clark - No other driver as so much "Grand Slam" - Pole/Win/Fastest Lap/Leading every lap of the race - like him. And all that from just 72 starts... ! This man is the Olymp of driving - the Michelangelo of racing - a dynamic art at the highest level. So smooth, so precise, so fast....simply out of this world. One, who won in Spa by 5 minutes (!) in monsoon rain with only one hand at the wheel (!) because of gearbox trouble...One, who takes back a complete lap (!) in Monza and back into the lead... One, who took pole on the original 22,8 km Nürburgring track by 9 (!) seconds and more....One who won Indy by 2 whole (!) laps...For eternity and by lightyears unmatched in the sport. That`s just four examples of his mesmeric unique genius..

a perhaps picayune complaint, but one that is annoying nonetheless. If I wanted to listen to music... good bad or indifferent, I would listen to music videos. But, I am here to see cars and listen the beautiful notes they make. Why do so many amateur video makers seem to want to show off their video software prowess by cluttering their otherwise fine movies with annoying music that drowns out the sound of the cars???? I really don't give a shit if you know how to use video software.. or even worse, fancy yourself as the next David Attenborough... shut your mouths, turn off the music and let the car sing.!!!!

An older man in a Jaguar XK150 Roadster is up early to watch some track action between a couple of Jaguar-powered race cars. The engine of a Lister Jaguar can be heard struggling and mis-firing as it’s test driven. When the Lister Jag comes in for adjustments, a mechanic pulls the fuel line from his motorcycle to be used as a stethescope, and the man in the XK150 starts his stopwatch. The fuel line tuning technique is right out of the Jaguar Workshop Manual. The mechanic listens to and compares the air flow through multiple carbureators and quickly adjusts each butterfly valve until all the carbs are in perfect balance. The Lister Jag goes back on the track making perfect engine sounds. The man in the XK150 pulls out a business card to give the young mechanic. At that point we learn he’s ‘Lofty’ England manager of the Jaguar Works Racing Team, which dominated LeMans with five outright wins during the 1950s. Brilliant short film with super-rare historic automobiles. Two thumbs up!

Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO )

One can imagine just how lovely the handling balance must be with the suspension sorted. Four-wheel drifting on the edge of tire adhesion, the car makes the driver look like a star.

In 1957 I bought a 100-4 as a daily driver and relative to the traffic on B roads in southern British Columbia it was very fast. On acceleration, braking, top speed and handling. Putting the roof up or down was bothersome, as were the side curtains. Outstanding relative to the standard sedans of the day. But because of the short travel of the suspension and low ground clearance they were rather difficult on poor surfaces. In 1964 I bought a 1300 Alfa Romeo Spider and it was significantly better in handling and braking on any kind of road surface and it was more comfortable with wind up windows and you just lifted the roof up and clamped to the top of the windshield. Didn't have to get it out of the trunk. Had 8 Alfas.
