Roy Acuff was the nicest man you’d ever meet. I grew up a few streets away from his home on the Cumberland River. We climbed up and down those cliffs in his backyard, and when we would meet him he was so nice to us. Once I got older and started playing music, I played with Billy Collins (R.I.P.), the son of Charlie Collins who played with Roy Acuff and the Smoky Mountain Boys. I got to know him even more and……like I said, you’d never meet a nicer man.

That had to be a life changing experience for Mr.Keith Whitley and also unforgettable to have the opportunity to perform on stage with Ralph Stanley. ":;*/! Well I myself would have been on fire ,after having the privilege and honor../? Maybe that's what made Mr.Keith Whitly drive on to the best.. Thanks for all the good music.

There's a reason why she is so genuine. She plays what she wants. Not what producers are pushing. She is and will be a legend. No one comes close to her ability to sing.

Of the many, many versions of this song, this version has to rank right at the top, and that includes the version on the Vol 1, which was also pretty awesome.
