@RememberTheGame 3:35 Oh Adam. Let me just push my imaginary glasses up. Red hood, real name Jason Todd, is the second robin after nightwing, real name Dick Grayson. Red hood was “killed” by the joker when the fans voted through telephone for the outcome. Comic - A death in the family in 1988. He was brought back later as the Red Hood. DC animated movie Under the Red Hood is a good watch. I end my nerddom with that

I wouldn't believe Adam sucks at video games unless you died at least once.

I love the Super NES Version of this game. It was the only one my grandmother had for the console before I ended up taking the collection for myself as part of her will. That said, this is the (arguably) hardest of the 2 games. Here's the breakdown: This game does have its platforming stages like the first Earthworm Jim, but there are gimmicks tied to them. Anything but Tangerines has you lifting pigs to balance a weight and trigger a slide to eliminate Bob's cat sidekick. ISO 9000 has the rolling cages you need to lift to the grinder machines to activate those and proceed further. That said stage also has killer cabinets that won't stop chasing you until you toss up papers with your feet to make them eat. Run Jim Run is a racing stage that has you shooting obstacles to proceed and taking boosters to bypass Psycrow. Udderly Abducted requires lifting cows and taking them to farms to milk them to fill buckets that open said farm's gates, all while avoiding UFOs. Some cows are also on fire and need to be bathed in a tub before they burn (or if it's a bomb, they explode). On top of that, Flyin' King is a shooter escort mission to carry a bomb to the snot boss from game #1. Villi People is Jim as a blind cave salamander flying in a stage that's surrounded by intestines. Inflated head has you avoiding Evil the Cat all while floating as a balloon upward to the top of the stage. Puppy Love... Oh God. Puppy Love fucking SUCKS. Even more so on Difficult. You get 5 rounds slapped on to you, Peter does more damage than on Normal, Psycrow on later rounds even COUNTERS YOUR BOMBS. So you NEED to be super delicate there. By the by, did I mention that Puppy Love is played 3 times in the game? No? Well, that's FIFTEEN total rounds! Yeah. 1 ain't looking so tough now, innit?

I tried playing Banjo Tooie as a kid (my grandma didn't buy the first one) and never figured any of it out. Always stuck. Now as an adult I've proudly 100% Kazooie and Tooie and if you haven't already talked about Tooie I implore you to check it out

For your love of tetris you gotta watch the movie Tetris that came out in 2023. It is a great movie that exemplifies what you said about the game boy. It is a little exaggerated for a biopic but if you love tetris you'll love this movie.

Great list. Just out of curiosity do you consider Five Night at Freddy's or Poppy Playtime scary? Would they be contenders for this list?

Good podcast. Sorry that I'm a little late to the party but i just discovered your podcast. I did previously listened to your view on sonic adventure 1 so I needed to hear what you had to say about number 2. I agree with alot of the things you said about this game. When i first played this game when i was 15 i was disappointed about certain game play mechanics.....namely tails. However, i noticed that neither you nor your guest mentioned the best part of the game. If i recall you never mentioned a similar experience in the first game. If you play through all the campaigns you unlock the end campaign....a campaign that fully concludes the story. This was in both Sonic Adventure 1 and Sonic. Adventure 2. The end campaigns have sonic turn into super sonic and fight the last boss. In this chapter you get a cool cinematic scene and the kickass title music. Since you never beat Big the Cat campaign or the villain campaign. Its pretty rad and i hope you got to play the last campaigns becasue it makes the games pretty legendary.

When I was younger I thought collecting was super stupid. I'd see videos of people with every color n64 and a million controllers and a million more games they'd never even touch and it made no sense to me but I think it was also because I was poor and jealous. Like I wish I could throw away money at 8 n64s and use 1 lol. Now I lile holding physical copies since 90% of retro games I've played were roms and I'm always curious at how well it emulated physical hardware

In this, you say something along the lines of "if this wasn't zelda, if it was some random sdventure game, I'd still play it." Which is funny because at the time this WAS some random adventure game as "zelda games" weren't a thing yet

Glad I found this podcast. Love hearing people recount nostalgia like this, love hearing you guys reminisce while I work. Hopefully by the time I catch up to the current episodes there will be a couple games left for me to talk about because I nerd out hard on video games. I might know more about them than anything else I'm into. The episode I noticed that I'm looking forward to seeing is DK64 because that was my first Donkey Kong. I was born in 2000 but my grandma made me start out with n64. Ocarina of time, Kirby64, DK64, Jet force Gemini, Banjo Tooie. Now I'm in my 20s going back and defeating all the puzzles I couldn't figure out as a kid

Fun fact: Sony was working with Nintendo and wanted to make a Sega cd type disc drive add on but Nintendo said no. They went to Sega with this disc drive system and Sony of America said yes please, but Sega of Japan said no way, we have the Saturn coming, it's gonna blow your mind. Sony then decided to go on their own and turned their addon into a console and the Playstation was born

I grew up with gamecube, but I had nonidea how big of a game I was missing out on. For context, I was maybe 5 or 6 when Brawl came out. My sister was on the computer all the time, and she found out about smash flash, which, if you haven't heard, is a fan made flash game of melee. Next, I saw Brawl in a newspaper, and I was stoked since I could see Link in the tiny picture. I saw listing's for melee when I had my grandma search on eBay, but my brain was like, "That's not Brawl" and I missed out.

Since I can't look at my phone when I listen to these, it's fun anticipating the intro theme and I'm such a huge fan of every game talked about so far, that hearing the music gets me so excited. This one threw me for a loop since I didn't grow up with Playstation but I remember playing HORSE or SKATE on my older friend's ps1 when I was being babysat at his mom's house
