I got into skydive with the intent to progress to BASE. After less than a year I'd come to the conclusion that BASE wasn't for me. NO room for ANY error, 100% commitment, and if you make a mistake, you die. Skydive is relatively safe, The sort of jumping I was doing WAS within my comfort level, the chance of ending the day in a body bag is slim, don't get me wrong, you still can't switch off mentally, but when something goes wrong there IS a second chance, and plenty of height to fix any problems. WIth BASE.....NO reserve canopy, and very little height!
