Well you can thank the democrats for throwing Youngstown over the cliff .They did nothing to help the mills come back.Youngstow was just abandoned.After doping billions of dollars of bombs on Vietnam They couldn't give Youngstown anything but welfare I hate the democrats to this day because they let Youngstown sink into the abyss

I miss the days when Southern Park Mall looked like that. I was born in 1984 and I still remember when it looked like that and having all that stuff in there. I miss the days when they had the fountains, the train rides, Woolworth, KayBee Toys, Camelot Music / FYE, and the Fun-N-Games arcade. I was only 6 years old back then when this was taken. We used to park the car outside Sears and go into the mall through Sears most of the time. Today, I go to Eastwood Mall in Niles because they got FYE and it still sells music and movies.

The men and women who put all these Idora Park nostalgia together have done a great service to every human being who ever went there over the many years! THAT PARK seems to live on in the minds of those who have fond memories of summers spent there! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!

North Canton Hoover Company summer picnics were always held here. Going here was the best time of my youth. I leave this sad video with the expression partially taken from my favorite poet Emil Dickinson.: That it will never come again is what makes Idora Park so sweet.

A fond but exhausting memory of mine is me, my sister and friends just finished the walk a thon. The end was the ballroom. As we went in for a drink and a seat...our exercise instructor started her dance routine and asked us to join. She couldnt understand after walking Youngstown's entirity we wouldn't..more like couldn't..join in. Good times

I love the music playing there. Kroger is my childhood grocery store Becuase it was close to my house. I remembered when I sat in the cart like a ride at Disneyland and I also remembered when I sat in the cart enjoying a snack and just living the dream at Kroger. I also remembered when I sat in cart when my mom handed me some frozen flavored tubes to me and they were so good. I feel bad that we don’t shop there that often because we like other stores in our area. We also had a plus shoppers card in my mom’s wallet and it never expired till this day (It still works) I also love there Kroji characters and I have a huge collection in my room next to my bed. After they rebranded a couple years ago I used to call them “Clay Buddies” I also love there semi trucks, blue delivery trucks and their vehicles. When I feel down, sad scared, nervous or any other emotion, The Kroji characters comfort me and they let me know it’s gonna be ok. Now that I’m entering my 12th grade at my high school, I will remember those memories. (I do apologize if it’s a long comment!) (Also Fly high to that Kroger in Wayne, MI)

Thanks for the video and all the work you did to keep the memory of Idora Park alive. I live outside of Philadelphia, Pa and over the years also lost many amusement parks. For my generation it was Willow Grove Park in Willow Grove, Pa. It was a turn of the century trolley built park and was huge. When I was younger it was the park everyone wanted to go to. It had three roller coasters as well as many of the other traditional rides some of which I am sure Idora also had. I did see you had one of the hanging rocket ship type vehicles that also were used on a ride at Willow Grove. Keep up the great work you have done to keep the parks memory alive. I hope you can continue for many more years.

I miss Rolling Acres Mall. I used to go to that mall all the time back in my childhood and teenage years. It was my favorite mall. I also miss the Chapel Hill Mall as well. It suffered the same fate as Rolling Acres Mall. I never visited Randall Park Mall or Euclid Square Mall though. My Mom used to go to Randall Park Mall. Looked like a really nice mall too. I find it ironic that all 3 of these malls shown in this video have all been torn down and are now being taken over by Amazon. The Canton Centre Mall in Canton, Ohio should've been in this video. Even at the time of this video it was still open but really empty. Now it's just sitting around just rotting away. The Carnation Mall in Alliance, Ohio just got torn down in favor for a Meijer store. It's getting ready to open soon. The Shenango Valley Mall in Hermitage, Pennsylvania is now the next one to see it. It's losing it's final anchor now which is JCPenney. The mall itself is gonna be closing down on the last day of May. Later this year, it's gonna be torn down.

Had to watch this again, 13 years later. I've been haunted by the painful loss of this great park and a coaster built in the days of the Master coaster builders; gone forever. Amusement parks have ONE purpose: To make people happy. That's why we build them. There's nothing more beautiful than that, and nothing more heartbreaking than losing something that exists to put the biggest smiles and laughs on our faces.

This man literally did nothing to help anyone hahahahaha. I remember when my uncle and his family got kicked out their home in youngstown by the bank, hard working family. Yeah he said he would never sign the paper and the judge put him in jail for 2 days, then he signed. He was all talk, all BS. He took so much damn mob money from youngstown and pittsburgh. Whoever thinks this man was a hero is mentally ill. I love how he talks but thats all he did was talk. Typical 2000s era democrat.

You don't just get kicked out of your home by the bank if you're a "hard working" family... Also who said they wouldn't sign and then got put in jail for two days and then signed? Wtf are you referring to here? Your hard working uncle? Jim? You don't say who you're talking about at all there. But besides this incident with your hard working uncles family home???? How else was Jim Traficant all talk, all bs? What type of mob presence does Youngstown have versus Pittsburgh, or is it all the same? How did he take his money? Or are you just having a piss?
@yogibear8686Ай бұрын
Traficant was a true patriot and was a serious threat to the kosher establishment! He passed important legislation that save millions of Americans' homes from the IRS, among many other things. He shed light on the lsraeli lobby and all their wars based on lies and showed that all together, we give 30K for every man, woman and child in lsrael per year !!! Can you imagine if every American got that kind of money every year? RIP Jim Traficant ❤
