Every is rightly praising the vocalist, how about some love for the pianist, she's marvelous.

I thought I recognized Ford Hall... Fellow JSoM student here. :) Lovely voice, and a huge thank you for sharing this video. I'm currently studying this song, and the French language isn't sitting well with my tongue, so this is so helpful!

Yes it's a beautiful interpretation (btw, I understand what you feel : I'm native french speaker and I find it more challenging to sing in French than either in Italian or Latin for example)

A voice that is clearly developing in the right direction since posting of video from 2016....which was very good, but on this day, to my ear, much better. Love the lower register which bolsters the upper. Brava and keep it going!!!

Of the 6 postings of Ms Jameson that I've listened to this morning, this seems to my ear to be the "best"....I say that noting that there were three other venues/times and so some day in anything we take on are better than other days. I also note a difference in "to the eye" fitness levels which as a former jock come late to singing, I've found that staying heart and lung on top of things makes a huge difference in what I am able to fool myself into having accomplished. This is a marvelous voice to my ear in this video. Brava.

This recording was a culmination of 5 years of hard work and practice. Thank you for your comments on my singing! As for fitness, I dont believe it is necessary to comment on my body and my choices. Have a good day.

@@courtneythemezzo Hey, Courtney, of the wonderful voice...of course, you are correct. I have found singing which I do seriously though not professionally for 30 years is at the very least an athletic event...and much more. I have known well professional singers, not to my ear of your quality, who as their schedule became more "filled" were lesser able, according to them, to achieve what it was they wished and they (3 of them) put it off to not having time for "fitness" stuff ( each did something different) I've found the same to be true of myself. Forgive me if I expressed this clumsily....there was no insult or any gender politics intended....and I can hear the 5 years of hard work and practice. Brava and keep up the joy I hear in your accomplishment. Pip pip

Hey H Clary, as a former jock you should be well aware that you can’t ascertain someone’s level of fitness by eye alone. Since this video is not a physical fitness video and you are not a personal fitness professional employed by Dr. Jameson, it is not appropriate for you or anyone who does not fit that description to comment on notions such as “fitness levels.” This is a (stunningly gorgeous) singing video, let’s keep our comments strictly to singing! Dr. Jameson, your voice, musicality, presentation, and stage presence are beautiful and inspired, as usual!!!

So many times a third rate countertenor is used these days over a first rate mezzo. Glad to see that Mezzos are still singing the Handelian castrato rep (at la Marilyn Horne , Janet Baker et all). Only thing better would be a baritone....
@davidpayne6976 ай бұрын
There's a recording of Hermann Prey singing it in German. Haven't heard any other baritone besides him sing it though.

You did a good job. It's not just your voice, but you created a wonderful presentation of this piece. I felt emotional because of how well you created the vowels, intonations and melodic line. The chosen speed of performance, and clear entrances were an exceptional portrait of the piece. A very useful performance overall.

I am a Freshman pursuing my Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Music Education, and my Voice professor assigned this song to me. During rehearsal with my accompanist today, I started to freak out a little bit because this is the hardest song that I have ever sang. However, I am really glad that I found your video because you have a beautiful tone that embodies the French language, and you are very clear in every phrase. Also, you just have an amazing voice. Thank you for sharing your gift.
