Rachel, I really loved the segment where you show what is in the shop/coming to the shop. I have popped into your shop a couple of times in the last few weeks, but it is a totally different experience to hear you explain/talk about them while you show them. I must get my hands at that little fox scissor holder!

Two of my older favorite books, Kate Atkinson, Life After Life and The Story Sisters by Alice Hoffman. And yes, books I’m finding now are all whiny relationship fluff. I’ve been digging deeper into my library stacks! Enjoy all your amazing projects! Ps you better record during your visit to Vermont lol

So great to visit with you ladies again! Great video! I recently stitched this for my son and daughter-in-law for Christmas-she loves witches: The Primitive Hare-“May the Witches”. The saying is “May the witches be kind to you”, which I love. A fun stitch! A book I just finished, “The God in the Woods” by Liz Moore. Couldn’t put it down. I’m now reading “The Women” which I also can’t put down. Thanks Sue for the recommendation. Happy stitching, reading and all the things! Needles up, too 😊❤

Rachel where did you get your punch needle frame? Sue love all your Satsuma ornaments, so cute. So many new things, I need two more lives to be able to stitch them all😁Good books I’ve listened to on Audible, The Little Liar by Mitch Albom, None of this is true by Lisa Jewel, Tom Lake by Ann Patchell, Who did you tell by Lesley Kara. Sue my sister just did a haunted house collage by Laura Heine. You can buy the kit with all the fabric. It turned out really good

Yay, so glad to see you ladies back....I've definitely missed you! You guys have left a big hole in my morning workout "playlist" while you've been away! Was hoping that Mary Morgans would make an appearance as you both inspired my start on her but I love listening to your conversations and seeing whatever you are working on. I hate to even bring it up, but....I've also been wondering if Sue's Ann Grimshaw has ever been located?? Ugh! Hope to see you ladies again soon!

I am a 58 year old woman. Stitching, knitting and crochet are just who I am. I have been crocheting since I was 10. I started cross stitching in the late 80’s. I have been knitting for the last 10 years. I do not care how anyone feels about my need to knit in public. Of course I would never bring my knitting to a formal event (wedding, funeral, really nice dinner), but I bring it in the car all of the time and I bring it to family visits every time. To just sit around with my hands idle is unheard of. That is when my husband knows I am not feeling well.

Always acceptable to knit . Never acceptable for a husband to tell me not to knit.💕🧶
@elizabethbedford66593 ай бұрын
I totally understand the need to crochet or stitch as a comfort. I used to feel self conscious about it. I get weird looks or comments from some people but I really don’t care anymore. I have a kit in my car in case I need it. It is a lifestyle for sure. I actually feel sorry for people who don’t know what to do with themselves. 😊
@kimrae67523 ай бұрын
It was great to see you both. I loved the convo re; “Lifestyle vs. Dabbler” makers. Not that its a competition! But, we are a different breed. We NEED to make things. This has been true for me since my childhood. I have been a Knitter for 40 years. Then, in 2021 i went back to X St and I fell HARD. I had knit too much and hurt my elbows and shoulders ( 👎🥴😬) and so it was great for me to have another crafty hobby (other than spinning, crocheting and weaving, which also hurt my arms.) Now, as mainly a X stitcher, I don’t bring that with me to social events. I think that a knitter should always be able to bring vanilla knitting with them to non business events. It centers and settles us. Other ppl don’t understand that. Please continue the convo- it is very interesting and essential for us. Thank goodness for FT! We can have a virtual crafty tribe! 🙏

None of my friends or family members knit or cross stitch. They think it’s rude to bring knitting to a gathering. One friend crochets so she gets it. Today I am casting on a sweater and it will become an obsession.

I've seen that there are studies that show we listen better when our hands are busy. Knitting and doodling are usually mentioned. It can't be any worse than trying to talk with someone who's busy looking at their phone.

Lovely visiting with you ladies this morning as I was stitching. I love your videos. I too, Rachel, need to find a name for my chicken. Currently I’m making a red one for my grandson at his request! Look forward to your next toss and anxiously await some FLA linen Aida to arrive in your fabulous store! You may piqued my interest in cricketing those doilies with the yarn from Lori Holt…..I will need to explore this now. ❤❤

I usually gauge whether knitting is appropriate, by whether others could look at their phone in the same scenario. I actually don't really like others asking about my knitting, which I need to get over, so perhaps sometimes I knit on the sly in public. But always unabashedly during sports games!

I knit quite a bit and have made many sweaters. This summer I started the same sweater 4 times. Don’t be upset. It’s worth it to have a sweater that fits. I hope you have someone to commiserate with you. A friend of mine and I sometimes rip out projects for each other. It’s easier to get restarted once the pain is over.
