In 2045 I got past the R16 of the UCL for the first time, and...... I ended up getting to the final and beating Arsenal on pens! I also beat Willem II of all teams in the UEFA Super Cup. Sold a few key players for huge money and sell on clauses after my win so a slight rebuild to go for it again 😊 Edit: Save is with Slavia Sofia and I am on course to get Bulgaria to 7th in coefficients overall after I lose a lower scoring season

No, as far as any of the original club players there's none left, the longest serving player at the club now is Klimis Syrakos who i signed in the 2nd season i think

100m+ possibly for one of your players is mental! In my save I have now won 5 league titles in a row, 4 supercups, and 3 consecutive UCL league phase appearances and reaching the knockout playoff round twice. League is ranked 18th and Bulgaria is 16th in coefficients, but it will rise a lot as we get rid of the low number years soon. Levski have become a very strong side now and almost pipped me to the title last season. Ludogorets always there or thereabouts. The league has a whole has drastically improved, even without my loan army. I now qualify straight to the UCL playoff if I win the league which is a nice change of pace , no more starts to the season of several European qualifying games. In Sep 2032 but the save is only really getting started 😊

Have been watching the series along the way and wanted to give a mini update on how I'm doing on my Bulgaria BAN with Slavia Sofia. 1st season: 4th place 2nd season: 7th place and UECL R16 3rd season: 4th place 4th season: 2nd place and UECL PRs 5th season: 1st place and our first title! UECL PRs 6th season: 1st place and our second title back to back! (Won at Ludogerets on the final day...) UEL league phase 31st place 7th season: Underway and UEL league phase (lost to Celtic in final UCL playoff) efbet League: 22nd as of Sep 2029 Bulgarian Coefficients: 20th as of Sep 2029 Loan farm is going strong and have some players who are regulars at big clubs. Have a couple of youth intake players who are now Bulgarian full internationals and a few foreign players gain Bulgarian nationality after 5 years. I am now an icon at Slavia Sofia!!! PS: Bulgaria somehow made the Euro 2024 semis where they lost to England 😂😂

The kits are custom made with a program called kitbasher, if you search youtube for second yellow card kitbasher he has a great step by step guide on how to do it

I really feel inspired to try a build a nation after watching your vids and SYC. I have never done a full BAN before so was wondering if you have any tips for loaning out players within the league etc which is kind of the only thing I don't really understand. I am going to be Slavia Sofia 😊. Great series btw

Thanks mate and thanks for popping into the stream too, in terms of the loan stuff the way i do it is to use my players 2.5 stars and below, go to offer via transfer room, set it to loan, then you can choose just to offer to clubs in Bulgaria, but I'm in the same boat mate, im still learning the loan farm side of it but SYC is an expert at it having done it for years, honestly i think the best way is trial and error and see how you get on

@@kjmfm4278 Yeah it will be my first time doing it so I presume it won't be perfect but I did watch SYCs video on "How to build a nation" and that was very helpful for the loan stuff. I won't need to worry about it anyway until I am several seasons in and completely dominant and have enough money to buy players just for a loan farm. I am not sure if I will load just the one league with the custom DB or load a good few leagues with it. You are a good way in now, you notice any huge changes from just the one?

@bigmaguire9714 no not really any big changes just yet, Musiala at Real Madrid is probably the biggest one to be honest, and you're right about becoming dominant, that's the stage I've reached now where I need to keep winning so I can build the finances up

Nah its just something that randomly happens, you can reload your youth intake until you get one but that's not what I did, I just got lucky

I'm just getting my Slavia Sofia save started and was looking for what DB set up to do. I saw from the first episode that you had only one league loaded and then just added the players via the custom boxes (just like SYC). I'm very tempted to try this but does this effect the managerial appointments, transfers etc for the non active leagues drastically? Like are the top teams in Europe still buying players and changing managers in your save? I want my processing speed to be as fast as possible so this set up looks perfect. Great series BTW 😊

Thanks mate, as for your question I'm not too sure yet but from my FM23 save where I did something similar I found that transfers weren't too affected and still happened quite regularly but I did tend to find that managers would be at clubs for a long long time with the league not loaded, so basically transfers will be fine, managers not so much but if you're planning on staying in one nation anyway then that shouldn't really be an issue

Not sure I have it anymore but I could have a look, I had to deleted FM23 to get FM24 and all it's add ons onto my laptop, limited storage space and my FM23 file was 92gb when I was finished

I have just started my Eastern European Journeyman save in Bulgaria with Slavia Sofia. I have opened Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. Aim is to bounce around the 5 nations.

In terms of what I'd do with you talking about the amount of episodes a season, I would aim for 4 a season but have room for an extra one or two with cup or continental competitions. It's at least how I do my videos but then what I love by FM is how a bottom tier side in England can get to the Championship in like 20 seasons. So the more seasons I do the more I like playing the save. Also the more seasons you do, the more likely you'll see progress in the build a nation asepct as well.

Yeah I was thinking that for the top flight maybe as the top flight is a split league after 30 games so we'll have to see, I'm trying to change the format of how I do things too and get more involved with editing the videos to just be basically better, I'm just not good with that stuff so it's a learning process for me

Yeah it is crazy, 70 years in and the big team in each country is still the big team but I guess that's the power of money

@@kjmfm4278 yeah but even the rest of the league isn't outrageous, usually when you get 60-70 years into a save you'll get random lower division teams littering through the top flight but there's barely any of that going on everyone there has been in the top flight between 16/17 and 20/21

@@kjmfm4278 ah right, that reduces reputation changes a lot, would've probably worked better in that regard to leave every league on view-only instead of not having them loaded at all, but probably would make you go crazy with loading times then

Yeah that's why I did it that way only loading the leagues I needed at the time, my loading times are already ridiculous, transfer windows in particular can take me hours and hours to progress

I love me my journeyman's so it'll be a bit weird eventually not watching the journeyman you did. But a building a nation always comes across as a cool idea and so I love to watch them as well. Can't wait! Also I was actually thinking of doing a build a nation in Bulgaria as well on my channel! Mine I think would be with Spartak Varna as I managed them on a head coach journeyman a couple of years ago and really enjoyed my time but in the end left them after only really getting them promoted to the top tier. Always wanted to return to them and win a champions league with them.

I'm using something similar but with a HB instead of DM and IW(S) instead of IF(S). Lower defensive line, mid block, higher tempo, and c+c combo. I'm trying to build the most meta formation in FM23. P.S. Overlap + wing backs is an overkill from MY experience. It might work for you tho. P.S. 2 You could probably get a lot better results with your tactics if you played all your games. I'm betting that most of your losses are late game goals when your players were exhausted after full game of higher tempo and gegenpress.

Yeah for the purpose of the tactic test I just went on holiday for the season, but I do use this tactic in my main save and have been very successful with it across multiple nations with multiple teams big and small and its been fantastic but yes I do concede a few late goals occasionally when I've had a run of 3-4 games in a short period of time, having good squad depth is key to getting the most from this for the whole season

How did you get these loans. Were they scout recommendations? Usually i find that i can’t scout players far afield with smaller clubs due to lack of budget or scout knowledge. These estoril players look so good. 🎉

Estoril are my senior affiliate team so the players aren't really scouted, I just look through them and try and loan one I like, they send them here for first team experience

Yeah it's a massive help and ypu tend to find a lot of the smaller European nations teams have senior affiliates with the big boys
