​@alb3096 If you have Bora wind (i.e. North East wind) over North Adriatic sea and getting its way all along lake Como from South, you can have wonderful Breva. And in Autumn, Bora is frequent

Hi. Early autumn is a good season for Tivano, which is the thermic breeze blowing in the early morning in Valmadrera. Foehn wind can blow all year long, after the passage of a low pressure, but Valmadrera is not the best spot to catch it, since it's quite gusty there. Better to ride Abbadia, Mandello, or Dervio depending on foehn direction. Hang loose....

In primo luogo, guardando sempre la superficie dell'acqua sopravento per non farti sorprendere dalla raffica, per orzare o aprire la vela quando arriva. In secondo luogo, ricordandoti di spingere con la gamba di prua che deve rimanere sempre tesa! Buon vento. Fabio

Sicuramente, assimilare bene i movimenti con mare piatto è utile. Con un po' di onda, prova a virare quando l'onda raggiunge la prua della tavola, orientata nel vento. L'onda sosterrà meglio la tavola al tuo passaggio davanti all'albero

Andrea è davvero un drago, ed ha uno stile veramente pulito e fluido. Tutto quello che fa lo fa sembrare facile, ma non lo è assolutamente!

credo che a 1:28 ha precedenza quello a DX, che era prima sull'onda; anche se tutto sommato ci poteva essere spazio per tutti e due poi. Per la seconda (1:43) nella zona dei frangenti ha sempre precedenza chi sta uscendo, indipendentemente dalle mura. E in questo caso chi stava uscendo aveva cmq la precedenza. Menomale che quello che stava uscendo si è reso conto subito che quello che gli stava venendo addosso stava guardando altrove (guardava quello che non gli aveva dato la precedenza prima😂). Quando è cosi affollato è sempre un bel casino... menomale che sembra che nessuno si sia fatto male

Per quanto riguarda l'incrocio a (1:43) , ​ non ho altro da aggiungere a quanto scritto da @DavidProRider ​ . Invece, per quello che si riesce a vedere nel video nei momenti prima del minuto 1:28, sembra che i due riders (anzi tre, ma uno la perde subito) abbiano agganciato l'onda fuori praticamente insieme, e la precedenza ce l'ha quello sopra vento, più in difficoltà a vedere l'altro rider attraverso la finestra della vela. Comunque, quando gli spot sono affollati, confermo che è un bel problema. Io, personalmente, evito problemi e danni a me o altri, e piuttosto lascio l'onda. @@alb3096 Yes, the South part of the lake is the one where we usually catch strong Foehn. We ride not only at Mandello, but also at Abbadia or Lierna. Generally, Valmadrera or Lecco are not good spots with Foehn wind, 'cause it's very gusty there. But you can ride with Foehn also, in Dervio or Cremia, which are quite in the North. The Northest part of the Lake (Gera - Colico) are not good with foehn, instead, because, coming down from the mountains is extremely gusty, there. You can find much more at www.waterwind.it. Thanks, I remember long time ago opposit of Geta Lario with Foehn it was almost impossible to ride due to gusts. You might see me on the listed spots by next Foehn hopefully this fall.

Ciao Andrea! Puoi fare entrambe le manovre con qualsiasi vento. Ma con vento forte e piano d'acqua formato, è più facile girare presto la vela (per evitare che il vento forte te la strappi, dopo il cambio di mure), e cambiare la posizione dei piedi dopo il cambio della vela (per gestire meglio il piano d'acqua formato, che ti sobbalzare continuamente). In teoria no. Potresti usare anche una semplice base per collegare la base dell'albero al piede d'albero. Well, Andres it's a good question.... Usually, in July you have only light thermic breezes (15-20 kts) in Sicily. So, I would say freestyle or freeride board with big or powerful freestyle sails, especially if you ride inside Stagnone pond. But, sometimes - not too often - you can also have a low pressure passing near Sicily, and maybe some Mistral wind (NW) blowing, and if you want to ride Puzziteddu or other waveriding spots, you should have wave board. Anyway, at Puzzitteddu and Stagnone you have some rentals, so that you can rent the proper gear in case you don't have it. But, I would bring my own light wind equipment, if I were in your shoes. @@andreslarrain2790 well, I don't know all Sicily, because I do not live there, and I have not yet explored all of it. Stagnone (on the west coast, near Trapani) has good thermic breeze. I've heard that also the spots on the east coast, that face the "Stretto di Messina" (Messina Channel between Sicily and Calabria) enyoy good thermic wind coming from the North, but I have never been there.

The video has been shot in summer time (July). At Stagnone Lagoon (first part of the video), winds from every direction can blow over the spot, and so it works often (generally with wind around 15 kts). At Puzziteddu (wave spot in the second part of the video), Mistral wind (NW) is less common in summer time, and much more frequent in other seasons. But, I was lucky to get a summer mistral (light) wind, and waves.

Yes, Andres you are right. Infact, in my report, I wrote that in the afternoon, the spot was really crowded, and that I got out from the water at 15,00, because of that. It was Sunday....
