My JD LT150 lasted 17 yrs with no transmission problems and it had the K46 that a lot of people are having fail. I didn’t know about the problems till after I sold it. I pulled a 550lb utility trailer filled with firewood all around the property and plowed snow, but yes, I to have read where many are having failures after even a few yrs.

My JD LT160 is still chugging along. No transmission or engine issues. I think it is about 17 years old as well.

@@budwilson6177 wheels are for anti scalping so they should not be riding on the lawn until you hit a dip. So , set your deck to the desired height on a level concrete floor, measure from level concrete floor to bottom of scalp wheel. scalp wheel should be 1/4-1/2" off the ground so when you hit a dip the wheels will hit before your blade and push the deck upward so your blades will not plow into the ground. i typically mow 3"

@@bucksfan8344 good video. Thanks for making it. It also shows me what a piece of shit design John Deere has sold their customers. Out of all the ways to adjust the deck John Deere decided to go with the dumbest idea on these mowers. The deck adjustment tool is so far out of align from the deck leveling bracket that I’ve stripped the tool out and am trying to figure a way to go ahead and level it so I can mow. I see you almost busted your knuckles as I have done for the last several hours. Sometimes you’ve gotta worry about these engineers that have never spent the summer working ground in a 4440 up to an 8620. These guys and girls should seriously talk to their technicians that catch all of the heat that they created.

@@jasonbranson4262 Sometimes it's not mower but the operator. My JD X300 is a 2008 best mower I have ever own. Do all my own maintenance.
