@@BT-tb3qu I climbed for 10 years at CRG and have climbed without a shirt (and seen others do so) regularly. This summer and when their AC was broken they changed the policy and asked to not remove our shirts. As a joke I decided to buy and wear a crop mesh top when I would have removed my shirt (I did toy with the idea of going for a sport bra since the women can wear those)

Nice vid bro, but those must of been really good holds cause I couldn't help but notice that you never chalked up.
@benoitcerrina4 жыл бұрын
Hello, well this is a climb from 3 years ago and I mostly remember the mandatory upside down kneebar. Reviewing the video, the holds are pretty good in the very overhanging part but if they weren't and considering the overhang I would probably not have chalked up until the aforementioned knee bar as I rather climb quickly then. Just after the knee bar the climb becomes more vertical, the holds not as good and more chaled up (and I fall). If memory serves me well this was a 5.12 and fairly pumpy.

followup of previous comment to keaien: Of course the videos are recorded using the simulator and on a computer, this is because taking the interface in video with my fingers in front of it wouldn't help much. All this being said I am sorry that you are disappointed by the application. Best regards Benoit
@benoitcerrina13 жыл бұрын
to keaien: sorry but I misunderstand your comment. My application was of course designed for the iphone and with touch in mind from the start. Of course you are not expected to have a keyboard connected to use it and really the only part of the application which uses the keyboard is searching by english meaning or japanese pronunciation. The main kanji search methods, drawing and radicals search do not use keyboard and neither does the structure navigation.

It is clearly visible that you designed Shinkanji using computer. Navigation in your app relies heavily on computer interface such as keyboard. As Apple iPhone is a phone and most users don't have keyboard connected...thus....your UI design is awful.... BTW I Bought your app and It sometimes useful, however I think kanji recognition tool works improperly. I tried to draw kanji "math" and your app couldn't recognize it.

@shisomiso I'm in the same boat (gaijin in Japan). I've been considering buying a pocket translator with written kanji input, but figured that the iPhone/Touch would have an app to do the same AND have the all-in-one functionality. I was playing with the iPod Touch 4g in Nagoya and found the kana input keyboard could be pretty quick. *Ex) touch 'ma' and mi, mu, me, mo come up on the screen. Swipe your finger in the direction of the character and it's entered.* Is this what you've seen/used?

kekio86, this is done by adding international keyboards in your iphone settings

3) not yet, I am thinking about adding a "note" field which will be editable by the users you would be able to use it to add whatever you want. About the example sentences, a future version will include a db of example sentence the same way as the current (v3) version has a db of compound words containing the kanji. 4) thanks 5) I see it this is strange I'll check if the same happens in the original on my machine, thank you for the heads up
@benoitcerrina15 жыл бұрын
1) I am planning to do a separate for pay feature to support this. No target date though
@wribbit15 жыл бұрын
2. Does the app come with databases? Or must we purchase the databases separately 3. Can we build our own databases? i.e maybe I want to edit a certain kanji and add example sentences in addition to just the reading and meaning 4. Great job on the stroke count... I like that it tells you not just the order, but also the directions 5. the audio in the vid went missing around 4:10 That's it... Great job :)

Hi, I was looking around for an app that would help me with Kanji, and found this video :) First of all, looks really good. I'll definitely give this a try once I get my iphone this week Just a couple of things: 1. Do you have any plan to include flashcard quizzes using SRS? The idea is that while reviewing, there is an easy way to separate out kanji that are harder to remember. I know we can bookmark and create a list, but I have a feeling that would be a bit cumbersome

Regarding posting a video demonstrating this, for some reason the japanese input is not working on the simulator with the most recent update which would prevent me from taking the video. You are correct that the fastest input method is the keyboard (romaji or kana) the radical search is intended for foreigners studying kanji rather than for japanese.
@benoitcerrina16 жыл бұрын
Hello, it is in fact not possible to create an input method which works everywhere if you are not apple. On the other hand, you can use the iphone hiragana keyboard by quickly tapping several times the same character (tap tap on ま writes a み) this is in addition to being able to hold the finger on the character.
@shisomiso16 жыл бұрын
Actually I want to add. The problem with keyboard input is that it's romaji. The iPhone needs a hiragana keyboard like the mobile phones have. The iPhone hiragana input method is not logical. You have to hold down the first syllable and WAIT for the others to pop up. Hardly efficient. You should create a hiragana input method that can be use on ANY area of the iPhone including email.
@shisomiso16 жыл бұрын
Hi. Your radical search feature looks good. I live in Japan and use a few different tools everyday to help me with my Japanese studies. I type kanji very fast using a regular Japanese mobile phone. From what I've seen the iPod Touch or iPhone kanji input is just way too slow. Obviously the fastest input method on an iPhone is to use the keyboard. Can you post some videos showing kanji input with the iPhone keyboard please?
