🌧️ for the past few couple days now here in Pennsylvania we've been getting hit like crazy with a lot of rain. I'm guessing about three or four days maybe, give or take. Still I know the farmers can use it for their crops and a few places that I want and try to fish could not because it was dried up. Anyway like always here, a job well done on catching these fish

What is it with Americans and casting with your right hand just to switch hands to reel in?? Just move the handle to the left side of the reel and keep the rod in your right hand 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️

You didn't get skunked and the Dink Master is alive and well 😅😅😅. I can never seem to catch a particular fish of size other than bass and bluegill. I caught my PB walleye fishing for bass with a Yum Dinger on a shaky head jig 😮. I do love the double jig setup with wind and drifting under a slip float. That way I can jig it and let the wind work for me. Blessings Ethan

First, love your videos! I was taught fishing as a kid, and it never really stuck. But because of your channel and passion and joy, I’ve started fishing in my late 40s! I LOVE the ultralight setup. I got the Celilo and Daiwa combination. Question: about 1:30 into this video, I see you tie on the 1/64 oz MULE jig - what knot is that? A loop, or a palomar? Thanks for the content!

Best I can find up to 10 foot is....Bass Pro Shops Crappie Maxx Pro Series Crappie Rod. Since I typically do most crappie and panfish with spinning gear I would gamble on one of these for the price. If you have a store near you even better...bring the reel you're going to use to match them. I do this all the time when buying a new rod

I just got a spool of it and pared it up with the same reel (just the 2500 size) and the bass pro panfish elite (Like you said that rod is a bit tip heavy and the slightly bigger reel makes it balance perfectly). I am really exited to go fishing for some rainbow trout.

Great video on the best technique when Panfish fish are on the bottom. I normally use 8# Power Pro Braid to a 6-8# flouro leader. I really like the Gamakatsu Octopus #8, very thin, sharp, and never break. I use regular tear drop casting lead weights and tie them on with a palomar. 3/16 is my fav as I Livescope and want to get it right down to my target, especially in wind or deeper water. I very rarely get bit as it's falling anyway. I also only use this knot..... kzbin.info/www/bejne/fajWq4xro9hroNk&ab_channel=NextLevelAngling Okuma Celilo are my fav rods and the 7 1/2' lite is perfect for dropshot or 1/32 jigs. I mainly use Gulp Minnows in 1" or 2 1/2" sizes. I have caught a 15# Grass Carp and 12# Channel Cat drop shotting with this setup!

Ethan I've heard you for years talking about ice fishing. Do you think you will do some ice fishing content? I don't think I've ever seen you do any and I've watched you for years. Love your content love and use the Mule gear and because of you I've really became an ultralight angler.

I live in NJ a little less cold but still cold. I find winter little ponds are best because fish move deeper but deep is relative when 12 to 15 ft is the deepest water. But also I bank fish but catch crappie all winter long or until we have ice

Wonder if you will get any ice fishing in this winter? Up here in Manitoba it is unseasonably warm!

My best trip for crappie is suspending baits in structure. The kinda stuff you normally wouldn’t fish. Or just start watching Richard gene the fishing machine on here lol but yeah I find more crappie while suspending baits in structure or dock shooting.

Hey Eithan as the water temp just starts to drop like now they locate along the edge of drop offs in deeper water. I would set up 2 of your rods on slip bobbers, one set 2 and 3 feet from bottom and one for 4 and 5 feet. Target the edge of the drop off and then work a jig along top edge and let it drop over the edge of the drop off. Crappie are all about depth from my experience. They will all hold in the same 2 foot layer of depth or so. So once you find the depth they are at you will slay them.

I've gotten the itch for a new UL rod. I love my 5'6" Defy Silver, but I'm hoping to find something that can get a little more distance on 1/64oz jigs. Thought I was set on the TFO Trout & Panfish and was waffling on 6' vs 6'.6" Until I watched this video the other day. Now, I've been waffling even more! 😂 I really prefer cork grips and the "all around" abilities of the TFO, but this rod sounds like a riot. Any insight into casting 1/64oz jigs on this Tatula vs the 6'/6'6" TFO? Thanks, Ethan!

I use basically only mono/copolymer since it more than sensitive enough, is cheaper than braid/flouro, wind knots are less bad (in my experience) and doesn't require a leader ever. He recommended Trilene Sensation (2-4lb copolymer) in his line comparison video but I've found that Trout SOS by Leland is just as good at around half the price. A lot of people run Berkley Fireline or Diawa J-Braid Grand for ultralight braid with a flouro leader though. Braid (with or without a leader) is more costly up front but doesn't need to be respooled even close to as often as mono/copolymer.
@brianathern91542 күн бұрын
I agree with all of this...I use mono, copolymer and picked up 2 spools of Daiwa J Braid cheap in 6#. I have braided line only on my 2 light and 1 ultralight reel. The rest have mono or copolymer line. Does that help?

Can't make up my mind, which I dislike more: Ultralight spinning or Fly fishing. It's tempting to try streams, but the investment VS fish size is discouraging. Generally I target pike, so anything below than 16cm/50g seems too small.

I purchased this Major Craft SUL recently. It was a toss up between this or the Dobyns Sierra. I purchased through JDM Asian Portal. Received it in 48 hours! BUT was shocked to see that the rod is made in China…??? Assumed since getting through JDM it would have been made there. Also purchased a Daiwa Iprimi through JDM and THAT one was made in Vietnam. Any thoughts?
