I love this album..a very nuanced album esp with the long instrumental openings It does take some time and patience to get into it

This song has stayed with me since I first heard it. David's new album, 'Luck & Strange,' has been getting rave reviews, and he's currently on tour (he just performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon). Anyway, Romany is also so talented, and her voice actually reminds me of Dido. This song in particular I would describe as 'haunting'. It was a remake (I wasn't familiar with the original). I think the music video is also exceptionally well done, visually, and adds to the feeling of the song.

This is a cover of a song from the 1990's. Watch David's short explainer video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnS0lH6LqcxsocU ( David Gilmour - Between Two Points (Explainer) ) AND there is a proper recording of two of the songs by David, Romany and the tour band here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6eXXmCma8d0rtE ( David Gilmour with Romany Gilmour - Between Two Points (Later... with Jools Holland) ) This one you should listen to the official from David's website first, but same venue as above for the live version with the tour band. (and Romany is joining in, I believe to cover some imperfections of David's 78 year old vocal chords - he'd been doing rehearsals and live shows for weeks when this was recorded): kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZSwpYSYrtSesNU ( David Gilmour - The Piper's Call (Later... with Jools Holland) ) Yes, Scattered is excellent, as is Piper's Call, as is Luck and Strange which incorporates Rick Wright as it's based on a jam they did before he died and they used recording of his parts in the new song. Also Sings is very good too, But watch the making of as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5TOeZyjjNVshKs ( David Gilmour - The Making of Luck and Strange)

I think the best two songs on this album are first the one he did with his daughter "between two points" and then "Scattered" especially for the incredible guitar solo at the end that sounds like he's very young again!!
I loved the Cure's "in Between Days" & "Friday I'm In Love" & "Maybe Someday"....if you like those Chck 0ut what they did with Blink-182, "All of This"

I love the album, but for me this is THE single. It's about as perfect as a song can get.
@nonument448416 күн бұрын
Brilliant, of course. The synths sounding a little dated but we'll call it classic.
@dboss723916 күн бұрын
And just to add, David has included his daughter Romany in the album. She sings two of the songs. And she has inherited some of his musical genius, and looks a lot like a young David. See him explaining Between Two Points and indicating she knocked out the song in basically one take: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnS0lH6LqcxsocU ( David Gilmour - Between Two Points (Explainer) His solo at the end of the song is pure Gilmour excellence. And this photo album of Romany growing up set to one of David's tunes is most interesting, including how much she looks like a young David: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipDKgpJ6at6bd6c ( David Gilmour and Romany Gilmour - Kokineli )
I too am a huge David Gilmour fan, though my experience is from the beginning, Meddle and DSOM, I had both albums when they came out and attended a Floyd concert in 1976. This was the wrong choice for first listen to the album. It's nothing special, and other tracks are far better. However I believe some of the official videos from David's site are deliberately compressed and sound flat and without dynamics. I think David has some idiots running some of his stuff (they had all the tracks up on his channel, then took them down and these new ones don't sound that good). The mix is so much better in the "making of" video, that I believe the actual album would be superior to these vids. That said, "The Piper's Call" and "Between Two Points" official videos are superior. And you have to listen to "Scattered". But do check out the making of video as follows: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5TOeZyjjNVshKs ( David Gilmour - The Making of Luck and Strange ) And he is on tour right now, he just finished the run in CA, and next week is in NY doing Madison Square Garden.

Ha ha 😂 I agree totally. I'm a Def Leopard fan myself. Loved some of their early stuff and loved their hysteria album. I even liked a few songs off their following Adrenalize and Retro album, but after that, they started putting out absolute trash. However, thank you Def Leopard for giving us the earlier great music to listen to. Just not gonna listen to anything of theirs after that unless they pull a great one out of the hat at some point before they retire or die. I wish they would make another hysteria type of album. That would be great. A lot better than their later albums.
