No one ever mentions that you have to clean the solar panels. Love it.

I've watched a few of your videos and agree with all the comments praising your teaching skills. Clear, concise and comprehensive. A+ And your craftsmanship. I have one question on this one- why did you make bottoms to the benches instead of just screwing into the sub floor? Also, do you have any squeeking and creaking now? Is there anything you could have done to eliminate them?

I once "welded" a crescent wrench to a 24 V diesel battery terminal while trying to disconnect it; one short arc, some sparks, a numb hand, a crescent wrench stuck to a terminal and rather amused friends..... so I'm I'm paying attention.....

I’ve been enjoying your van build very much, especially the way you present and analyze various options I the build. As many others have stated you are talented teacher. One option to Baltic birch plywood is a product known as light ply. It is made from poplar, has 7-9 laminations in 12 mm thickness (1/2”) and weighs about 2/3s as much as Baltic birch. It glues very well, holds fasteners excellently, and paints great. I have never found it at big box stores but good hardwood lumber yards will usually have it.

I've watched a few of your build videos. They are very helpful and well done. Your craftsmanship is great. On this one I'm wondering why you put bottoms on the cabinets instead of just screwing into the subfloor? Did you screw the boxes to the furring and the floor?

Outstanding job. I am starting to build a camping van because of your video. I am the electrical part phrase. Though searching around all these electrical systems are a thing and found out they are not cheap at all for my budget. I wondered for this build you have on this van, how much was the total cost if you don't mind sharing? Pardon me if I should not ask. <3

Lauren, I've watched this video I think 100 times as I'm getting ready to build mine. Did you screw your box to the furring strips? I was going to screw the wheel well sides directly to cross nuts I'm installing as I'm not using furring strips and was wondering if that would work.
@LaurenLawliss9 күн бұрын
Yes, I screwed the wheel wheel boxes to the furring strips and the subfloor. If you don’t have furring strips, I’d trust screwing the boxes to the subfloor and one another (the subfloor ain’t going anywhere). Hope this helps 😄

Many Transits beds run east-west as well, wo flares, as there are indents where the bed goes.
@LaurenLawliss9 күн бұрын
Yes, building boxes up high can help people sleep eat to west. Keep in mind, there are short and tall people so it’s very dependent on the individual. Also, I was not able to box out the bed area since I installed a convertible bed that is lower than a fixed bed 😄
@scottmalan12238 күн бұрын
@@LaurenLawliss Good to know “there are short and tall people.” My transit bed is 76” E/W, works for both short and tall people….
