It’s no surprise the painted wolves/African wild dogs would catch the nyala. 80% of their hunts end in success. A lion’s success rate is a mere 15%.

It´s interesting that most antelopes stand no chance of surviving wild dogs hunting them. The only chance they would have if they themselves would have a collective defense, like zebras.

Hi Jeremy I understand your question, but what is amazing about this experience was the coordination of the pack and seeing how they work together and it’s not just about feeding. They’re constantly looking out for (what I initially thought was) danger, but what we saw was more opportunities to eat again. We’re also so used to seeing these ‘nature shots’ in high-budget, slow-mo, close up, high definition that these home-movie hand-held clips are compared to them. I hope you enjoyed the clip. 👍🏼

Because wild carnivores are not frothing ferocious rabid monsters out of horror films. Not in real life. Wild dogs in particular are rather fearful of humans, and there are no recorded cases of them ever attacking us.

luckily for us somebody is apparently doing it, they are soon to be extinct. The only other problem is Hyenas they are not being hunted and they are worse than these wild dogs. We need to exterminate the Hyenas

We need to exterminate 100 percent of people who think like the first two commenters. Wild dogs are as awesome as any creature on earth. They are the most efficient hunters in Africa and the most loyal creature on earth. How many predators bring food back and take care of injured family members? Hell, most humans aren't that caring.

Is it something about the carnivorous that expands the brain? These grass eaters don't seem to grasp that self preservation thang all that well. Which brings me to thankin', I eats a lot of meat & I ain't all that big on brains. Ya' get my drift??¿

Well Elephants are extremely intelligent herbivores. And I just think that predators, especially social predators have to become more advanced than just being fast like the herbivores. They need the smarts, strength and tactics to survive.

Dear Andrew, My name’s Rebecca and I’m writing from UK based TV company called Arrow Media. We are making a new series of the Nat Geo show ‘Animal Fight Night’ and I’m on the hunt for some supporting footage to one of our stories about Wild Dogs. I came across this clip and would love to know if it’s possible to use/license for our show? Can you confirm you own the footage?Look forward to hearing from you! Many thanks, Rebecca Mason

Nice job, Andrew and thanks for uploading. Glad you stayed away from the shaky close-ups that amateurs tend to shoot. Giving us the perspective on the hunt and then the closeups when the dogs are feeding is the only way to go. All nature-video uploaders should take a lesson from you.
