When this lot came back from Chester, the front two units (507001 and 508143) were detached and formed a Branch Line Society railtour for the rest of the day

Have experienced it a long time ago. Train knocked a 600yd length of conductor rail off its pots, leaving the train stranded at the far end of the dead section (the shoe gear got trapped under the conductor rail). Kirkdale had to send out a similar length of train to connect to the stranded unit and pull it back out of the dead section and back to depot for repairs.

As I said in the description, it was a VERY cold morning. Trains had been iced up, and were not where they should have been. This was 3 sets of empties being moved to where they were needed.
