Super helpful. thank you. So wishing Camtasia would even do a basic Hi, Mid, Lo EQ effect for tracks. (and if they wanted to get fancy, have an advanced version of it too that would give more bands).

Thank you. But this is a remedy not a solution. Camtasia programmers are expected to fix this still-present issue in 2024.

Sir I have a simple query. I have only one table. There are numerous fields. Since a single table database, building relationship does not arise. But considering number of fields in the table. I want to split the fields in one form and one subform. Now I want to link two forms. In the main form if I change or enter new data, the subform shall display data corresponding to the field appears in both the forms. Shall be grateful if any advice is given. Regards
@ComeauSoftwareSolutions
@ComeauSoftwareSolutions 5 ай бұрын
Subforms are meant to support one-to-many relationships between tables. There would be no purpose to using a subform this way. I would recommend looking at the tab control in the form designer. You can put a series of tabbed pages on a form and split the fields up that way.

I got a better way to fix the lag in any version of Camtasia. I usually have long projects in Camtasia which is more than one hour. I had similar issues with Camtasia. Now I can easily fix this issue without converting any segment into MP4 and importing it in Camtasia. It is very simple and it works for all the versions.

Hello! I watched your video with great interest and want to share an idea that, in my opinion, could improve the proposed solution. External tables are hard to validate even through forms, and without this validation, the user receives unfriendly error messages directly from the database, which can be confusing. My idea is to use Access as a frontend to PostgreSQL/MySql by creating mirror tables within Access, including defining PKs and FKs to ensure referential integrity. At the start, Access will completely clear these tables of old data and download them anew, Access will think of these tables as its own (but no, actually it's not, and all data is stored in PostgreSQL!). Clearing at the start will avoid errors due to data mismatches. Considering my database is small (no more than 20 tables and the largest table has a maximum of a couple thousand rows), this should not significantly impact performance. As the Access forms will be created on top of the native Access tables, not linked external tables, the validation capabilities will be very rich (all the power of Access in all its might!). After the initial clearing of tables, upon the first opening of any form, all tables from PostgreSQL will be updated. Subsequently, updates will only occur when necessary, simplifying data work and improving performance. Users will be able to edit data in Access, and upon saving changes, the data will be sent back to PostgreSQL. If PostgreSQL reports an error, Access will automatically load the actual state of the table, ensuring that the user only works with current data. This solution ensures ease of working with data and information integrity without the need to create a complex frontend "from scratch". As for the driver, I had to write it myself to avoid installing it on every user's machine: github.com/Soskretkov/excel-dll-postgres-rust. This dll can simply be placed in a network folder, and everyone with viewing rights to that folder automatically gets access to the database. The solution is not perfect, but convenient in my case. At the time I decided to write the driver, I did not know it could be done as you do. Thus, there are two scenarios in the arsenal: update tables through the dll or build linked tables as you do and then copy their data into native Access tables to create forms from them, which will be very flexible for validation. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this idea! If you're still working on the project, maybe we can join forces!

I'm not quite following exactly how you're iterating all the cells, but personally I'd only iterate living cells and just address it's adjacent ones directly: just REALLY quick 'n dirty pseudo-code below to give an example of how I'd reference adjacent cells instead of looping the entire grid each frame/ujpdate FirstUpdate{ foreach (cell c in grid.cells){ // ONLY DO THIS ONCE if (c.IsAlive) { ListOfLivingCells.Add(c); if (grid.cells[c.X-1,c.Y].IsAlive) update(grid.cells[c.X-1,c.Y]); ...etc for -1,0 .. +1,0 .. 0,-1 .. 0,+1 to get adjacent U/D/L/R cells, can also do diags if desired doDeadAliveLogic; } else { //cell is dead } //foreach } //FirstUpdate then simply iterate ListOfLivingCells for subsequent updates, adding and removing from the list as you go You could even go one farther and queue cells that need updating, instead of doing them in-place while foreaching ListOfLivingCells Just an idea, and probably how I'd initially think to attack the problem, but after I'm sure it would change. And for all I know, your way could well be the superior one, I'd have to write my own version of the test program to play with and see. Thanks for taking the time to make this, really an interesting watch.. PS; Should do it in Unity next time :D (Or XNA if you're old like me, hah.)

If it's just a Json file then wouldn't it make sense to split up the project in a text editor, saving it into smaller segments... do your edits... then paste it all back into a master file at the end before export?? Has anyone tried that?

I wouldn't use ripple delete or cutting in twol .I'd use Ctrl + X selecting a part of the video. That removes a part of the video but keeps the piece together, doesn't create two cut pieces. Just for the people watching this, this generates a video that will be converted into mp4 twice, which reduces quality twice. Good workaround, but it's the programming side of camtasia what should be solved, there's ways to make it be faster and they haven't improved it... I'm having lots of problems when snapping objects. It considers all objects, not only visible objects...

Agreed. I love Camtasia for its intuitive operation but there have been issues. I haven't done any longer videos recently so I haven't had to deal with it as much. I'm also trying to be more economical with my edits and get smoother at making videos so I don't have to cut out as much.
