I watched your video to see if I could use the same formula for my project. I am working on a reservation tool. I have a form for if someone wants to cancel their reservation. Based on the Request ID I want the form to pull in the applicable data regarding their reservation and then have them confirm they want to cancel. This way they don't have to key in all of their reservation information. But I am having difficulty with your formula. I keep getting an Unparseable error. Thoughts?

I'd need to see the formula to be able to comment, so feel free to email via the website. Here's an example of that formula at work in a video I'm due to post shortly, which might help you determine what's wrong with your formula in advance ="app.smartsheet.com/b/form/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" + "?RequestID=" + RequestID@row

@@journey2hyperlapse it all comes down to how you design your actual solution, for example, if done using a unique ID, such as the user's email, then they can click the form and then press whichever button they want. When I try to re-create this the title of the project in the allocation heatmap & assignment details is showing up as the title of my sheet instead of the of the phases as you have in this video.

Hi, in the second example, in the "QR code item location lookup sheet" are you using VLOOKUP to display values based on the QR code? Or how are those cells configured?
@Smartsheetexpert3 ай бұрын
Hi there. To understand the configuration, let's take you through the process; 1. New form submission populates the submission sheet 2. In the submission sheet, there is a column with a formula that check wich item is the latest one for each QR code submitted. (See +-5:20 in the video) 3. In the "QR Code Item Location Look-up sheet", there is a formula (INDEX(MATCH)) that finds the latest item (see +-5:34) and finally 4. We make use of INDEX(MATCH) to display the other values in the Lookup sheet based on the QR Code. Hope that answers your question

Thank you for sharing this tool! Quick question before I test the tool. If you're plan has 2000 rows, do you recommend using that as the timeplan or do you recommend creating a separte Milestone timeplan that would only include milestones/key deliverables? Would this work even with a plan that has 2000 rows? If yes, how would the S cirve look?
@Smartsheetexpert2 ай бұрын
How did got get on with solving this? The number of rows doesn’t impact things, it’s the duration. And if the duration is too long you can limit this in various ways by either using reports, adjusting the gap between dates or the duration to be a rolling time-window

@Smartsheetexpert4 ай бұрын
This would come down to the wider process you use this for. Eg you could add a column in the initial sheet to mark where items have been invoiced, you could have an intermediary sheet so when you run invoicing you then archive all items in that sheet to another one etc. The aim of the video is to show the art of the possible. @Smartsheetexpert5 ай бұрын
You could create a dynamic dashboard much as indicated in this video “Smartsheet demo for dynamic data query on dashboard or portal” kzbin.info/www/bejne/mp6yZpSiesSihpY but it’s significantly more complex and can take multiple reloads to update. Like so much on Smartsheet it’s about what’s the most effective solution to your particular need, so that route may suit you better, but for those looking for a simple solution, I’d recommend this hands-down.

If you haven't checked it out, it offers a variety of features including the ability to share sheet or report rows with people so they can edit them, without having to publish the sheet/report or share the underlying sheet. The Preceding tasks column is set up as a multi-select dropdown with the following column formula: =JOIN(COLLECT([Issue key]:[Issue key], Row:Row, HAS(Pred@row, @cell)), CHAR(10)) There are some helper columns that are hidden in the video that support this column as follows: Pred: This is another multi-select dropdown with the following column formula: =SUBSTITUTE(Predecessors@row, ", ", CHAR(10)) It's designed to remove the commas from the Predecessors column so that lookups work correctly. Row: This is a text/number column with the following column formula: =MATCH(Ref@row, Ref:Ref, 0) This is the classic formula that numbers rows sequentially from top to bottom, even if they get reordered, and it relies on this final column: Ref: This is an autonumber column with no prefix.
