FYI to Aussies: Aftersun has just become available to watch in Australia for free, via SBS on Demand. It was interesting to experience it for the first time with the audio description function activated.

Personally, I wish they could have kept some of these scenes in the final cut of the film. It really gets to show Evangelion from all the perspectives of the female characters. But then again it would have made it a little too long. But I'm glad we can see this. Not only are they all great voice actors, but great actors too.

I just found out about this today. I spent 10 years of my life learning and Understanding Eva as I grew up. Not only was this part of the film something special, I connected how Trigger hardcore reference this in SSSS.Gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon

This scene is incredible. I saw this film as a child and and it affected me greatly. All my life wanted to make a difference, but it wasn't until I was in my 50s though that I landed a job as a one-to-one special needs teaching assistant. I literally waited my whole life for that job! ❤

A pity that it was turned into a superficial piece of opera. It could have been more insightful into the process of what drawing actually is and how it is done and what are the motivations which drive people to draw.
