What happened !!? You must have been horrified to see him like that. Poor little guy. Ah, he looks so much better soon after being under your care, even though he is so thin. Will be nice to see what his personality is like.

😢 Poor little guy, he doesn't even have any milk teeth yet, and he's got poop stuck on his back feet😢😢😢. So sad, but happy he is at the Foundation where he has a second chance to be a monkey, not a pet!!!❤❤❤

The videographers do this to show what state these little ones are in when they first arrive at the VMF. People need to understand where they’ve come from and what they’ve been through so as to discourage wanting to keep, or actually keeping them, as pets. It’s the reality of the horrible things that CAN happen to them in human hands, but also educates about what people can do to help. However, most of all, the documentaries show what the foundation provides them in the long run - a safe, secure future back into a troop with their own species. I hope that kinda helps put things in to perspective. The beginning isn’t pretty, but it’s the truth. I care about them and it’s obvious you do! ❤🐒❤️

I’m so glad Dasher is the capable hands of your foundation! The poor boy is jumpy, and clearly traumatized. You can see it in his eyes. 💔 But it’s comforting to know he will get the help and love he needs now. 💗

Female monkeys are meant to be mothers. Thats all they want. They cannot have babies of their own so they take these babies. Relationships still work well.

@margaret1321 Not all species do this, but yes, in the majority of cases, those stories about "his mum wasn't taking care of him" are bologna, a story that the petting zoos want to sell you.

Agreed, you know how people lie sometimes about the monkey being found. They don't want to fess up that they planned to keep them as a pet.

Sort of obvious that that is a monkey that has had enough human contact that its establish a bond with humans and accepted them. That was seemingly evident from the handoff and probably why that was so quick. Also as its said this is already day 2 of him being bottle fed the fact that he negotiated a bottle with an artificial teat and stood in a cage to nurse rather than having to be wrapped up, and held to get him to take a teat not really designed for a monkey, and is such a pro at suckling says this baby had been bottle fed through many feedings and usually it in its cage. Hus recognition of the bottle was a real key, but he acts like he is not adjusted to a smaller teat and peobably got used to a himsn bottle and a much larger nipple. Feeding in the cage was probably sheer luck, but should make adjusting to a feeding cage easier rather than transitioning from being held by a carer to the feeding cage At least they realized that keeping a baby was not a good idea for the monkey and turned it over while it was young enough to have a better chance finding a mother. I do not doubt that the report uou were given was exactly what happened buy several days to a week before, not one day.🎉
