I remember when the teams said they have to shift at roundabout 11-11500rpm, because the engine is at its most efficent during these numbers, despite the rpm limit set at 15k. It always sounded like they were cruising especially in 2014, around 2016 that changed thankfully. I think 12-12500 is the number most engines reach now until they change gears. Not counting the slipstream long straight numbers since its obvious that they have to rev higher since theres no geat left.
