I have one on 2.3.4 (supposedly on the latest 2.3.6) but I safely disposed the old battery cause it was bloated, but if I remember it turned on without issues.

I was able to turn on my N9 for more than 5 years without a power button doing the RND mode trick, but unfortunately I recently tried to turn it on again then it suddenly shuts off, I think the battery is dead now, just stuck on Nokia logo with USB indicator, tried again the RND mode trick it was responding on CMD but it turns off and restart repeatedly. I’ll try to replace the battery (if there are still available online).

I was going to train myself before looking for parts or part donors to refurbish one. Well… First time disassembling touch screen phone. I was pulling the battery out and id didn't wanted to move, not even milimeter. It came out after removing 2 T6 screws inside. Completely swollen to 2 times of its original thickness. Good I didn't found that charger and that battery is going immediatelly out of house…
