It would have given a better perspective if you had mentioned the detailed analyses of the 3k RG accomplished by the extended team and published as Wang et al 2018 in Nature (see DOI: 10.1038/s41586-018-0063-9 ). Instead, you have focused on the initial, preliminary analyses given in the data note paper published by the team in the 2014 GigaScience paper.

I have a question. When you say that any population except NIL should be used but it also said that the BSA works on the principle of NIL. How is this possible? What is my understanding uptil now is that with the result of BSA , NILs can be produced. Please clarify this doubt for me.
