Did you keep the ABS system or run new brake lines??
@joecontreras6849 күн бұрын
@@danieljoseph2510 I kept the abs system but nothing electronically hooked up to it, as of now it’s working just fine even under heavy breaking. I purposefully hit them hard just to see what would happen. So far so good.

I’m in George West,Texas. I’m going to pick up a 63 longbed sometime around thanksgiving or before Christmas. I want to do the frame swap with the AWD I’m wondering if I could use H2 Hummer frame since I have one already lying around
@joecontreras684Ай бұрын
You could make anything fit just depends on the amount of work you want to put into it. H2 has a 122.8” wheel base 1963 short bed was 115” 1963 long bed was 133” Kind of right in the middle with that frame. You can extend the frame or chop the bed. Can it be done, yes… lots of work, yes. But that would be a cool frame to put it on.

It’s driving now but I don’t have it registered yet so I’ve only taken it down the street and back. Drives great so far, feels like a Tahoe but it is a little lighter so it does feel a little more spunky. I like it so far.

You prob could. The wheel base on the Jeep is 118” while old ford rangers are (I think) around 107 to 111 so you would have to extend the wheelbase and in the newer rangers you would have to shorten it. You can make just about anything work just depends on the time you want to spend on it. Also no mater what frame you use you have to change the body mounts

If you guys (driveway bandits) which I was before I had my shop of 41 years now would just do a couple of simple things life would go easier for ya !!!!!!! No. 1; get a can of JB 80, WD 40, or any other spray lube and hit every nut and bolt your gonna touch the night before and No. 2 ; lay down a decent tarp or old rugs or anything to put between you and that damn cement. Your gonna be so ground up after a day ---or two of that shit you can grill your arms. My shop here in Iowa has body-on frame and body off frame restored just over 400 '67-'72 Chevy/GMC 4x4 trucks since 1980. We've specialized in this more than any other shop in the U.S. for all these years. Good luck, cool project and be careful ---not everyone has a hoist --jackstands can be tricky !!!!!!!
