The video would have been more helpful if audio accompanied the visual instruction.

This is really pretty! But hey, I reckon you could turn down the ISO a tad to restore some quality. Thank for posting! x

vaya a autodesk.com y busque acero avanzado en sus productos. puede descargarlo de su página web una versión de prueba o una copia del estudiante y seguir las instrucciones una vez que se descargue. A partir de entonces debería estar instalado en su computadora.

How can I set a layer in the advance steel dwg template that when the GA or assembly drawing dwg is created this same layer can be set turned off or frozen and not printed in the GA and Assembly dwg? It is that some times I need to use helping beams and those should not be in the drawing and I want to set them on a layer in the model dwg that when they are being turned in to the GA or assembly dwg they do not show up there as they would be on the layer that is set frozen and not printed. An other example is with guard rail posts on corners where two guardrails meet and one post needs to be set on this layer and of course un check everything in the behavior tab.

You can set those to a regular layer just like you would not okay. Just create a different layer in the model mark those items on the correct layer and then update the general arrangement drawn. You can then disable those in the general arrangement drawing

Hi, thank you for your videos, they're interesting. You have a quite large model here. I am having lagging issues with my pc hardware configuration. Specialy when crating/modifying pickets in stair railing or even worse when generating or updating the drawings from the cameras or the sections in the drawings. What can I do to minimize the time it takes to do this processes? What hardware are you using on yor pc for Advance Steel (Not the minimum requirements)? - Mainboard? - CPU exact model? - memory Ram count with mhz, ecc? - Grafics card model? - storage SSD/HDD, read/write speed?

Hi Kirk, great video! Following your instructions, I can't create a drawing of the selected view, but what I get is an overlapping of all views. I mean.. I have two parallel grid lines A (without bracings) and B (with bracings). After defining views as shown in your video, I try to get a drawing of alignment A but what I get is alignment A+B overlapped (i.e. I see bracings).. there's something wrong in my procedure, for sure.. can you guess why?

My first guess is the Z forward and Z backward values were entered backwards. That's what's controls the depth of view inside the detail

Ok, but.. is the depth of view set at the moment of view definition from a grid line? I think so.. and shouldn't the Z axis (of the view) be parallel to the direction of view chosen at the moment of view definition? Another related question.. how can I get different views simultaneously on the same drawing? Thank you Kirk, you're so helpful!

Great! Loving your videos! Do you think you could do a video on creating an arch bridge? There's literally none out there and for starters like me it's a challenge

Kirk Bailey would love honestly anything to be frank- but i would most be interested in watching tutorials for creating a tied arch bridge structure. Creating the arch (which is made of smaller ribs- how arches are usually constructed). And I was wondering if you happen to know how to draw something like this in advance steel The arch ribs that would be single-cell steel box girders, with rectangular cross sections and would be stiffened with some idk... longitudinal plates or ribs or something.

Hi kirk, thanks for the helpful videos, had a suggestion as far as detailing the pans, this is by no means a criticism just a suggestion from having 15 years in field and now switching to detailing (trying at least). instead of setting from of pan(3.) at 2 inches high set it to 1 and the height of option 4. still keeps the pour to 2 inches, now when the stairs is installed in field the front of the pan can be welded to back of lower pan from the top so no welding needs to performed from the bottom of stairs (which is difficult especially for multi level stairs). Also a clip on the inside of stringer works and looks best in field for anchoring cause drilling can be done in place before last pan is inserted. We have altered our stairs over the years to work this way, may not be best for everyone but seems like best option. Also thanks for your help on the forums, hopefully my opinion may be helpful for you. Keep up the good work hope to learn more from you.

+Kirk Bailey glad I could be helpful, sometimes these things make all the difference, we put small bolts either side of pans too, so one guy could literally install stairs alone without ever having to go underneath. Will certainly need your knowledge in the future, thanks

Hi Kirk, creating a dunnage with a canopy, seem to be wasting time with diagonal angle bracing between hss and canopy beams w6x15, can create them but seem to be wasting too much time, when i try using the brace command it seems complicated when i use angle from point to point i need to set it at gauge line manually. What way is best, when i use brace command its hard to get toe in correct direction.
