Whittle the end of the fatter pencils to fit the narrow extenders?

Are the Derwent ones better quality comapred to the others that look so similar please? Also which of the 2 has a better feel while using them? Thanks in advance
@katejenveyfineart2 ай бұрын
The Derwent's are slightly better in quality but not enough to justify the price difference. Both feel the same to use. The coloured ones are lighter in weight than the Derwents.

I loved the pencil sharpener so much what kind of manual sharpener did you use here for these pencils they are excellent what kind please?
@katejenveyfineart3 ай бұрын
I use a metal rotary hand-crank sharpener. I bought it off eBay, and the brand is Life Color. They come in blue or beige only. I have had it for years, and it's excellent. If you search 'sharpener' on my channel, I have a couple of videos on it.

In my student years , I made portraits for a 100 gulden , before the euro 😉 if your art grows the price grows , so I agree , those so called artists who ask for there traced artwork professional prices , and the ‘art’ just rolls out of a printer 🤦🏼♀️ I think when an artist is busy for years , drawing , sketching , and you made a name , yes an artwork should cost a month income, because it is worth it . Loved the video ❤and thank u

thank you.... can you recommend drawing paper for a beginner???
@katejenveyfineart4 ай бұрын
When it comes to your good drawing (not sketching) I recommend a good quality paper like Arches hot-pressed (smooth) watercolour paper 300 gsm or similar. The weight is vital to be able to take the layers of pencil. It does come down to personal preference, you may have to try a few brands to see what suits you.

I never thought that pan pastel on the film so I am excited about using them on the film. I have used one and two layers and what I also like is using a frame that is two panes of glass and the film works well in this situation. Thank you Kate for your knowledge. 🤗

Great video I find that the softer pencils get better results, if you use gouch paints if you put it on to thick its a lot harder to go over with colour pencils.
