Doctors have become lazy and made patients into a dollar sign. Also, this crosses the line to confidentiality.

Epic: The king of regulatory capture and responsible for more clinician burnout than all other EMR's combined. Maybe AI will cut down on the need to send an entire friggin' army of people to support a go-live. Sad.

Big ups to the mic drop moment at 6:47 where Eduardo Ortiz reminds us that in the healthcare context the top stories will always and only be: Delivery of proper care to patients. Delivery of services and capabilities to clinicians and caregivers to continue to provide care. 💯

Why do you have to do a check before sending the information. Isn’t there a title on the top of the page requested. A patient should have their own medical record because it is about them. Then the patient has to pay for their record when it is about them. If that isn’t all about money, I don’t know what it is.

Hi all, I'm used to Epic, but just joined a practice with ModMed. Is there any equivalent to Epic "SmartPhrases" or "Dot Phrases" in ModMed? I really need to be able to insert some text phrases and templates where it allows free texting, but I can't figure out how. Also, the "Dictionary" (replace with...) feature on Epic saved soooo much time. Anything like that on ModMed as well?

Welp still missing a key part of your team and that's you are not a doctor and may want to actually add one on as a partner. You would be best served by someone that currently still works on the front lines and has CMIO background. Don't just get a CMIO as most haven't practiced in the real world in a long time. This will help this company actually be worthwhile and helpful to the providers. I like the idea that it is looking at data and giving recommendations, however, another aspect of the software should be for the provider to make a diagnosis and give suggestion/recommendations based on current guidelines for the given diagnosis.

If you want me to write about interoperability, John and Colin, just say that!. But seriously, I'm currently working on some content around Interop and how to select a QHIN. I think we're not seeing more content because so many folks still don't understand it. I want to change that. Great episode, guys. And Liz is right, we now live in a "before the pandemic" and "Post-pandemic" world. What we write about and how we write it has changed.

The US government decided for all Americans to include them in health information sharing, which is the epitome of violating patient privacy. Americans should decide for themselves and their families if they want to participate. The burden to opt-out is placed on the individual through a painful process. Most people dont know they were automatically enrolled, and only a very small percentage realize they can opt out. Even healthcare privacy officers and doctors aren't aware. I dont need the government making my healthcare decisions, and I resent the lack of transparency in their doing so. My body, my health, my decision!

I have noticed many of the experts keep mentioning the word " Physicians ". We really need to start saying medical providers instead. Medical providers usually includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants, social workers, and many others. I predict Ambient AI to over extend its usability.
@HealthcareITToday8 ай бұрын
Some people don't like the word provider. It is more generic, but some see it as not respecting the doctor title. I prefer clinician which is slightly more inclusive, but hits to your point. I think you're right that all of those different people are going to benefit from ambient clinical voice.

@HealthcareITToday8 ай бұрын
That can be true. Although, often in healthcare it's someone trying to do 3 people's jobs since they can't find people to fill all the positions they want to fill. Before, people worried about their jobs. Now they're often embracing this automation as they only way to get the work done.
