Really appreciate the comment, Bob! I was there yesterday too- just spectating this time. July 16/17 my club is having the biggest race weekend of the season, and shooting for the largest grid of PRO3 cars ever assembled. Spectating is free. Schedule at: www.icscc.com/season.php

Awesome, David! Try changing the Contrast setting so the outside image isn't so washed out. I can show you how if it's a GoPro.

Took me a little while to realize you were having issues and not just messing with me. I could have used a little tow myself in qualifying...
@bradgreco73267 жыл бұрын
Hi David!! Thanks for the tow around PR. I was fighting a really bad high RPM miss, and thought I could tow off of you, and at least get a qualifying time!! Awesome view! Thanks again!

Looks like you had a great battle with Matt Lowell.

Thanks Jim! I remember it's the "spot" setting that needs to be adjusted. Hopefully, I'll remember to set it next time.

Great racing, David. And thanks for all the great driving tips and the book. You might want to adjust the contrast setting on your camera so the exterior shots don't look so washed out.

Didn't have to use that move, fortunately. I was able to run with some crafty vets and learn some race craft. I had an off on Sunday in the wet out of 6, but lucked out on the grid spot for the final. Had my eye on a top ten finish for the final, but got punted off and into last place early in Turn 2- Still had a great weekend though. 23+24th we'll back at PR.

You didn't jump 5a this time. I was there it was great racing and awesome pit eye candy.

Glad to hear everyone walked away, and you definitely made a good choice going just off track. It might have been hard on the car, but at least you could see where you were heading..

Thanks for the reply, Jeremy! Things happen very quickly in 5a/b, and I had only a split second to make a decision. I still had to review the video in order to confirm my initial reaction to how the incident unfolded. I hope others can find the video useful and maybe help them if they find themselves in a similar situation. I will definitely use this myself as an important learning experience to become a better driver.

Nice driving, Dave. After you got by #75 and 226 looks like you were pretty lonely--until "meeting up" with us at 5A. Good call going off left--you would have creamed Lee. And that was the best air since Ben Wilson at ORP a couple years back. I hope the damage is minimal.

My thoughts exactly, Jim. Good thing I hadn't made up more ground to you guys by 5A.

My cam mount had been loose for some time- I finally fixed it with some tape Sunday
@rollerbones19 жыл бұрын
the floppy camera is not so good, but GREAT choice in avoiding the incident. You would have t-boned that car for sure and with a good amount of speed. Much more damage would have been done to both cars. Also would have most likely hurt that other guy if you had not avoided as you did.

Yes they did- I went and talked to both workers on Sunday and they recalled my flight in great detail and how they were looking at the underside of my car. I don't think I was up very high, and I knew I wouldn't put them in any danger with my "escape" route.

That corner worker certainly got a show. The pass at the kink was close, too. What a wild session.

Yeah- I had a great car and with help from Dave Wahl improved throughout the weekend ending with a 1:40.5 on the last day. I'll be posting the rest of the races. Not sure which car I'll be in yet but I plan on being at the next event.

David, great racing at the Historics. I didn't keep the race 2 sheet, but from Race 3 it looks like we were running almost identical times--your best 1:41.943, mine 1:41.873. See you July 31? What kind of camera mount do you use that swivels on turn in?

Small correction- The 4c vid was from last November. The rain event from from last April did the mic in. I should have another working setup by my next event, maybe ORP.

93rt- Thanks! I'm pretty happy with the angle myself. Check out the end part of my vid from 4/12- Titled "c" to see the biggest reason why it works so well. The mic is an Auto Technica Pro 24. I prob should say was, because it unfortunately got flooded during the deluge later that day. I will have those vids uploaded in the next few weeks.

I love that camera angle. Going to have to try it. Maybe Friday! Whats your audio setup for the camera?

Truly a Dual! this is the best. I need to be faster in the corners. you destroy me in there. lets hope my front suspension upgrade does the trick. good catch of the RX8 flaming exhaust at 12:04.
