Great interview guys, I appreciated the kick in the arse with the motivation boot. I'm doing far better than I was, but have so much personal growth to aim towards. There was plenty of gems here. Stay up kings.

Thanks again Ben for keeping it so real - this one really pulled on the heart strings. So glad you got what you did out of this. I am not sure I could ever brave that although the benefits seem amazing and will be no short of life changing for you going forward. This I know as I realised a long time ago, I needed to forgive both myself (for any perceived short comings) and any source of trauma from childhood and through experiencing DV or I myself could not move forward in a less painful and more meaningful way (if at all). I found this so difficult to do especially on the DV front until I looked at any perpetrator as just another injured soul doing their best at that moment with what they had been dealt with throughout their life. I strongly believe that no child is born bad, so it helped me to look at them as an injured child stuck in their own traumas. It does not excuse certain behaviours (as we should try and be accountable for ourselves) but it helps us make sense of it all. And you and I both have done the very best we could with what we were dealt throughout life. As you know I have had to catch up the physical side of late which was one missing piece of that puzzle (equally as important) but this too I could not have done without first letting go of that past hatred and hurt. You will kill it even more now Ben - love your work <3

Just came across this, great interview. I have always been a big fan of Shane in what he has achieved and how he is not afraid to put it on the line. Also it’s awesome to see an Aussie giving it a crack in the USA Pro Stock racing industry when he has time. Awesome to watch, and a personal inspiration to me. 👍

Totally agree Ben - sometimes it is hard to fix as it is easier to blame someone else or one may even be unaware that they have this mindset or lack the belief in themselves to change things for the better - although if you do the hard yards to change everything is so much easier in the long run - Nothing changes if you don't change yourself and that right there is the only thing you have the power to change in any given situation - and sometimes it takes a lot less time than you would think to turn things around :)

Hey Ben - have been a little busy and missed your podcasts for a while - just starting to become more organised and have more time for myself outside of kicking goals :) - just wanted to say spot on about being able to rewrite your own story and that coming from within - just 5 months ago I would not have felt the same way (not even close) - good topic hit close to home!
