Summary time: I believe they did because first, the police later find the criminals at a wedding where they're trying to marry. The woman spots them and tries to shoot them. The guy gets shot and his girlfriend has to leave him in order to escape. Next, the cops plan to use one of their officers to dress as the dude who got shot to trick the woman. Then, the woman gets in the hospital that the officer (whos disguising as her boyfriend) is in and tells him they're getting out. Finally, the lady sees the man pull out his badge and the officers surround the woman and end up arresting her. Overall I believe they got the pearls back

This is a sad scene for sure, but in reality it's even more sad than you know. I've represented officers who've done this many times and the emotional impact is huge. Because of the "impact rule" and treatment of mental health compared to physical health they can't get treatment.

My Mom was like this for a long time. Her faith had saved her after Dad left, and for a time the church had her convinced her faith healed her Crohn's. When she had a flare up years later it shook her, in the end she kept her faith, but with healthier dedication. She now goes to the dr when she needs to, although she does rant about the conspiracies once she's home (never while there, she doesn't want to add to the stress the nurses, PAs, etc deal with all day.), but at least she seeks medical care now.
