Had a friend with 1968 250 Greeves Oulton he used to run it the vintage class bike races at the 2.1-mile road course at Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia where i ran laydown Enduro Karts. he came to my races & went to his & that bike to me was scary fast. What a blast to see these old gems get out & run & i know his bike was pretty rare & in pieces when he first got it.

My first car was a 72 charger with a big block 400ci. Damn thing was a beast. Loved the heck out of it. Still till this day was my absolute favorite car.

As I much fun as driving a ups truck. That thing is a handful.

Stuff like this is why I love watching Goodwood every year. You've got tiny little Ford Cortinas and Escorts and Alfas and Minis racing side-by-side with massive Ford Thunderbirds and 7-liter Ford Galaxies. And watching those drivers pitch and yaw those things around Goodwood driving them like they stole them is beautiful. Especially the big American muscle holding its own with the home team in the little Fords. You just don't see that sort of racing anymore.

I see TWO badass cars/drivers here - the Dodge Charger with the Christophe behind the wheel and the C1 Corvette whose driver in his turn turned out to be capable DUELING with the 911 Turbo. The only reason why the german tractor outrunned him was due to the increasing weight of the C1's driver's balls per second.

What folks need to understand is this car has 600lbs of torque… if you notice the driver is very “dainty” with the throttle and the fact that this car weighs about 3400lbs. and you don’t want to barbecue your brakes. Driving a behemoth like this is like wrestling a bear. I think he did an awesome job. 👍😎

The Chargers they used in racing in '76 were still the '71-'74 car. A '76 Charger you could purchase was very different. They changed the body dramatically for 1975. It was the same car as the Chrysler Cordoba with only minor differences in trim. The racers preferred the aerodynamics of the earlier car so they kept using them. The same thing happened with GM racers with the Chevelle & Cutlass when they downsized in 1978. The racers stuck with the older one as long as they were allowed.

Dodge made that body style between 1971 and 1974 - the tail lights are off a 1971.

This car is proof that Garage 56 Camaro wasn't the first time that a Nascar racer was entered in the 24hrs of LeMans!
