Every once in a while I come back to this piece. Lasers used to be in the realm of super-futuristic science fiction. Now they keep cats frustratedly entertained and cut out Hurdy Gurdy parts (should "Hurdy" and "Gurdy" be capitalized? We don't capitalize "piano" or "guitar", but somehow "Hurdy Gurdy" just sounds like someone's name).

I heard the theme from a classical music radio station while driving back home and the first time hearing it was so beautiful. I will check out the film soon. I'm sorry that I have never seen the film, I really love the theme.

Sounded like a hurdy gurdy. Thats just the way they sound. You can tune it up a little better but that's how its supposed to sound for the most part. Maybe wax up the wheel.
