Bro the 2011-2012 Trucke with no def and when they’re deleted i penalty believe are better than the 5.9s! got a 2011 with 245,000 no dpf, with stick transmission and never had any issues with it! Same color too bro! you’re truck is awesome! you still got it?

Yes. It has 4.56 gears in it. If I had to do it over again I'd probably go with 4.30's for 37's to keep the RPM down a bit on non-towing highway trips.

@@ericestep9880 gears will help the 68rfe for sure but at the end of the day it's still a ticking time bomb. I had mine rebuilt last year after the torque converter lockup clutch failed. The trans was on it's last legs anyway (had codes for excessive clutch apply time) so it was time to freshen it up.

@@brandon.jansen yeah I got 132k haven’t had any issues with it yet lol. Thats why I’m debating on 35’s or 37’s. I tow. 6000 lb boat in the summer some. But I put around 8k miles a year on it. It’s not a daily

So I don’t know much about vehicles but my beloved work truck was dying (2012 ram 5500 bucket truck) and I took it in to have it saved and they did an egr and def system delete , straight piped it with no exhaust tip and install a new intake and I was trying to find a video of what it sounds like to show my buddy and I found this , sounds just like this . I know have the most badass bucket truck in my state hahaha

I turn down the tune when towing which helps a lot. But on steep, long hills I have to watch the pyrometer to keep the EGT’s in check; definitely not a mash the throttle and forget about it setup. Around town and not in the mountains the EGT’s aren’t a problem though.

@@krayzyr1 sounds about the same as me depending on where your EGT probe is. Mine’s in the collector of the manifold just above the turbo and I typically hold it around 1250°F pulling long hills.

I love the sound of the straight 6 diesels! The crazy is that I passed an iconic XJ Jeep Cherokee with the straight 6 and they both have the identical sound without the turbo whistle. It was amazed!!! And it had the Aisin 4-speed auto.

The 4" system wasn't bad with drone when unloaded but definitely wasn't great when towing. Getting up in the RPM range it definitely had some drone and got quite loud. I ended up swapping to a 5" system with muffler in 2016 and have been running that ever since. It does still drone at times as well but overall is a better sound and setup than the 4" in my opinion.

@@brandon.jansen 10-4 I see. I got a 4” system now with a 30” flo pro muffler and bought a 30” straight pipe over the weekend to put on. I tow a 23’ boat so hopefully it won’t be too bad.
