Great video! However, the music is super annyoning and tiring. Pronounced beats are not a good idea as a background for speech. If you use music, at least put some real music, instrumental, not this cheap artificial electro computer nonsense. It just annoys and is tiresome. Otherwise, the video is inspiring!

For cleaning the glass : better to mix ashes with water (hot if you have). Make a paste, put it on the glass and waits a few minuts. No need to insist !

Nice! 800L is amazing! We also have a instant LPG Water heater in our van and the described problems als follows: Since we also have not enough space for the exhaust gases to vent natural upwards but to the side, we installed a computer fan right at the end of the pipe to suck out the fumes from the chimney. To save water while waiting for the hot water we installed a prime line that splits off right in front of the tab and goes back into the water tank. so we basically let the pump circle water through the heater for 20 seconds before we open the actual water tab.

Also besides heat and steel wool, just plain newspaper and water will clean the glass very easily. I’ve done it for years on my lopi

stoves are good, you should have cast iron unless in a tent. Campers are much better than shitvans, even truck bed campers also glass on the stove is for posers also if you live off the land, steal some real trees or you are wasting all your money and you should have went electric heating. if you dont shower in your domicile COMFORTABLY , you arent living

First use a quality wood and u have none of those problems. Those sawdust compressed shit is reason u hawe a lot of ash and dirty glass. Gimney should be a bit longer outside. And that stove is to small for that space..

The sooth comes from smoke. Smoke comes from poor draft through the system. To improve the draft, kill any possibilities of the air to escape between the level of the fire and the highest level of the flue (on the roof). Have the MaxxFan bringing air in and close other ways of the air out. If the air goes out through elsewhere, at least until the stove gets hot, draft suffers and starting the fire becomes more difficult. Ideally, you should have an air inlet into the van lower or at the same level with the stove, but best at the floor level. This will maximize the differential pressure between the fire and the top of the flue, which is essential for starting the fire but also for the proper functioning of the stove. I also presume you have some sort of flap to be opened when cold and to close when hot. What we found out after quite a long time was that if we postpone the moment we close it, we loose some heat through the flue in the the beginning, but sooth deposits are smaller. Consider raising the height of the flue. I saw once a swiss converted van at a ski resort that had an extendable flue: when stationary, they would extend the flue with some 50 cm and when driving, they would lower it back. Very clever. Cleaning is easier than you think: apply sooth cleaning foam for fireplace glass ( we use the one from Lidl, so a cheap one ), but the key word here is time. Spray. Close the door (fumes of the spray are not the healthiest things to put into your lungs) . Give it 20-30 minutes, let the foam do its magic. The thicker the sooth (i.e. the lazier you were🙂), the more time you wait. Wipe with dry paper to remove gross deposits. Finish with window cleaning solution. Wear gloves for the sooth will make your hands look not so sexy. Some of the most practical and down to the earth videos in the field! Thank you. All the best!

hot fire means clean glass...Maybe look into combinations of hardwood and softwood to get the temps right so you can fall back in love with your stove...lol

Also, while these tiny stoves are cute you have to feed them constantly, if you go for as big a stove as you can fit, you light it as I described, throw on a few big logs and then let it burn gently for hours without constantly opening the door and then throw in some more for an overnight burn. A larger steel log burner is the same weight as one of these mini cast iron ones

those compressed logs are shite thats your tar on the glass problem you are also burning plywood scraps another no no never burn any treated wood, use real wood, scavenge, also you need to light the fire fast and stop fannying around with little sticks and then more sticks and firelighters are a no no too. 6 balls of newspaper layer of sicks on top, then a few larger sticks, light a rolled up strip of newspaper at the corners then shove your lighter paper at the top to instantly warm the flue. leave door slightly ajar for a few minutes until the wood catches then close with vents open full.. once going add a few chunky logs then when caught turn vents down. if your chimney doesn't have a baffle fit one, also a magnetic temp gauge to flue. Add dried rosemary/lavender etc to the fire occasionally to fill your van with wonderful smells or a few sprigs on top of the fire

Your problem with the ‘stained’ glass is that the pressed logs you’re using do not burn hot enough to burn off the creosote. Switch to hardwood and stoke it up. I had a grizzly in my boat and had no issues by using softwoods to get it started, then switching to maple for heat. For difficulty with backdraft, you may need to switch your chimney cap. I used the H cap from Dickinson Marine. Good luck!

How long do you go between glass cleanings?? I do mine every time I light the fire and it takes like 2.5 minutes. If you do it regularly it wont get that bad even if it does run too cool but yes heat equals clean glass.

Toilet paper, soak it, dip in ash. Scrub your window clean. Add a sufficient length flue on top (detachable), burn at hight temps without too much unnecessary airflow. That will burn up the gasses instead of leaving creosote inside the burn chamber.

Cubic stoves have zero air wash. I bought one knowing I wouldn't be able to enjoy the view of the fire, but I'd get a new Grizzly if Cubic decided to redesign their stoves and add an air wash. it would be a game changer for sure, as it's the number one complaint when researching this product. Please speak up and voice your opinion to Cubic. It's a well buit stove. For the price, the glass should be functional, with less effort than some of the other stoves on the market.

Brillo pad or soap pad will get that glass clean Also, you can use a scourer and some cold ash Easy. Don’t you have GOOGLE? The reason you’re getting blowback smoke into your area is because you need to warm up the flu before you light it.! ❤🎉

I have a stove with 4 sided glass. The stove glass will stay clean if its away from the fire. If smoke/soot travels past the glass - it will get dark and require cleaning. The solution to this to have a better designed, bigger/spacious wood stove :)
