A proper man's truck unlike the atrocious things that are on the roads today. This model of cab was nicknamed the cheese grater for obvious reasons. 😍

Blimey nice motor ... remember seeing loads of these as a kid in east London in the early 1970s ... loads of local hauliers used them back then some I recall are Watneys, Bass Charrington, crow carrying co, Thomas Paine transport, C & H Hauliers, Reece Brothers transport, Shell oil, Whitbread, Thomas Allen, Pickfords, Esso petroleum and loads more.

When I started an apprenticeship in 1965 we brush painted these, I remember there would be 3 of us spaced out down the chassis! Brought back some memories looking at these great pics.

hi great trucks. my dad drove trucks for james spencers road haulage in old Trafford they also had a depot in wigan loved going with him on school hols he drove a S type Bedford with a Leyland comet engine and a eaton split axel the other was a albion 8 wheeler i have been watching all these film clips in the hope of seeing 1 of spencers trucks but no luck keep the films going one never knows 👍👍👍👍👍

@@abnermwiraria2208 , I think it is just new to African machinic. once they learn how to maintain next 6 yrs then mp5 will be the worst truck ever and mp4 will the best because everyone knows how to fixed, that is my opinion in trucking industry. the only people who will say the new model is the best are people who run their business in well developed countries and anyone who afford to take their truck to dealer and able to pay the dealer price of maintenance.

What are DAF doing in their design studios? The new trucks across the range are so ugly like DAF have decided looks don’t matter.Park that lf55 beside a Volvo, ,Merc Scania or Iveco and it would lose hands down.Its the same on the inside as well so dated.
